Guest guest
Hare Krsna. Attraction and repulsion for sense objects are felt by embodied beings, but one should not fall under the control of senses and sense objects because they are stumbling blocks on the path of self-realization. GITA 3:34 The attachment inhabits in five places - self, intellect, mind, senses and objects. If one inquires deeply in to this, then one realizes that the attachment that is in the "Self" is the same attachment that is in the intellect, mind, senses and objects. If the attachment from "self" is wiped out, then you will attain supreme bliss. Whether the mind is volatile, but if in place of attachment, if love for God is manifested, then there will be no remaining trace of attachment. The minute that one develops attraction towards God, attachment will come to an end. There is immense greatness in devotion and love of God. It will not be considered an exaggeration, if its significance is portrayed as greater than knowledge (jana) and salvation. No essence can excel it. The love and devotion for God has divine greatness. There is nothing else that comes even close to that love. Love of God will set everything right. How to develop that love of God ? When attachment is removed, love of God takes place. How to remove attachment from the world? On having love for God. Both points are there - continue to get rid of attachment and increase love of God. What should we do first? Increase your love for God. Just like when the Ramcaritamaanasa recitation is going on, by concentration on it and understanding it's mean, the mind is purified. Attachment is removed. The inner impurities are automatically removed, when God's divine stories are heard with devotion, and love naturally manifests within. There is uncommon relish in this devotion. In the beginning sometimes a man may feel bored, but when he starts getting interested, he gains immense bliss. See for your self and check out the results. Similarly read the lives of devotees. These devotional stories are very good and a means to develop love for God. When love os manifested, attachment and desire is rooted out. And on getting rid of attachment and desire, one attains supreme bliss. Attachment can also be removed through inquiry and thought, but love and devotion for God is greater than thought. Now, how can this love come about? By reading about the lives of devotees and saints will free one from bondage of worldly life and will purify the mind, because it is essential to wipe out impurities of mind than be concerned about its volatility. By purifying the mind, its volatility will be easily wiped out. When the mind is purified, it can be diverted in any direction.
