Guest guest
Hare Krsna. A man can realize God very easily and quickly. But due to attachment to the world, it appears that God Realization is very difficult and it will take place much later. In fact, God Realization is not difficult, but renunciation of attachment to the world is difficult. If we reflect on this deeply, then we come to the understanding that even renunciation of attachment is also not difficult, the reason is that no attachment remains persisting. Attachment predominantly takes the form of only two things - enjoyment of pleasure and prosperity. But attachment to them do not last or remain constant even for a single day. It does not have the power at all to remain. Attachment is to those things which emanate and later perish. It is a rule that those things which are emanating and perishing are incapable of ever satisfying a man (Self). How can the perishable satisfy the imperishable ? How can attachment to the perishable be everlasting ? It is not possible for it to be. Attachment is a fleeting flaw. The method to root it out is - "Let only God be my love" increase this one desire. Day and night let there be only that one longing - How can I enhance my love for my Lord. Besides love for Him, let there not remain any other desire. Not even desire for His vision. There is amazing power in this desire for God's love. If this desire is enhanced, God can be realized very easily. This desire must be increased to such an extent that all other desires are washed away. Only one longing remains - "I must have love for God" then this desire will be fulfilled within no time. May God appear sweet to me, may I develop love at His lotus feet - this is indeed our necessity. There is "necessity" and there is "desire". Worldly desire is called wishing, craving, hoping etc, whereas desire for God is a necessity, it is essential, a hunger etc. The point is that attraction towards the perishable is desire, whereas attraction for the imperishable is a necessity. A desire attracts a man towards pleasure and prosperity, while necessity directs a man towards association with exalted souls, adoration and meditation etc. It is a rule that desires are never satiated, while necessities are certainly fulfilled. To the extent that we have accepted a deep affinity and relationship with the inert (insentient) , that much shortage we experience. It is only for fulfilling this shortage that we have necessities. When affinity for the inert is renounced totally, desires will be wiped out and necessities will be fulfilled.
