Guest guest
Hare Krsna. It is not a rule that before realizing God, all agitations of the mind come to an end. But after God Realization, all agitations of the mind definitely come to an end. "Rasoyapyasya param drushtvaa nivartate" (Gita 2:59). "The agitations of the mind in the form of relish, pleasure and delight come to an end, on realizing God." (Gita 2:59). There is one very important and extremely beneficial point in this verse. I pray, that you inquire into this deeply and try to understand. We desire to come across favorable individuals, things, situations, circumstances etc. and we do not want to come across unfavorable individuals, things, situations etc. - this is life. This world and this life is nothing beyond the favorable and unfavorable situations. The impression that favorable and unfavorable situations, individuals etc. have on us, that in itself is called changes for the worse like "agitations of the mind" (vikaar). We need to become free from these destructive changes, because as long as there are these agitations, there will not be any peace. Try to inquire into where exactly are these agitations ? The agitations are in the mind , intellect, and in the inner faculties (antahakaran) . Rather these deteriorating states are in the instrument (karan), they are not in the one who is using the instrument (kartaa). This is the most important point to understand. You received a favorable situation and you became happy, and when something unfavorable came your way, you became unhappy. There are two states - the happy state and the unhappy state. In these two states, were you two or did you remain one ? Contemplate on this point. You remained the same one both in favorable times and unfavorable times - isn't that true? In essence, those changing states are happening in the mind - intellect, but you believe them to be happening in you (Self) - this is the mistake. In happy or unhappy states you believe your self to be happy or unhappy. The impressions of happiness and sorrow happen in the inner faculties, but do you (Self) become happy or sad? You consider all these agitations of the mind to be in you.
