Guest guest
Hare Krishna , Dandavat Pranams to Sree Krishna and Krishna-Bhaktas , Ravana , the "Villain" of the epic Ramayanam is undoubtedly the most Qualified human in world history . Having born the son of great Brahmana Maharshi Vishrava, Ravana mastered the entire Vedas , Shastras and Arts . Then he did supreme "Tapas" (Penance) and attained divine power exceeding that of Devas . Thereafter , he conquered all the three worlds and became the undisputed "Emperor". Further more , with his great devotion, Ravana pleased Lord Siva and attained HIS divine weapon "Chandrahasam" . Ravana's perfect attributes on all fronts ( family merit , knowledge , intelligence , power , courage , martial skills , Devotion and Tapa-Sakti ) was of the highest order . Still what life has given to Ravana in the end ! . He was forced to see helplessly : Loss of all his hard earned wealth . Killing of his dearest Sons , Brothers and Relatives . Humiliation of his wife . Burning of his Kingdom , Lanka . Annihilation of his clan . With a broken heart he witnessed all these events , helplessly . Even his devotion could not save him . An even after his death , Ravana is facing never ending notoriety . To the entire world , Ravana means evil . Why ? . In spite of all his supreme qualities , Ravana's behavior violated "Vedic Injunctions" . As a Brahmana , his "Swa-dharma" ( Prescribed duty) was to learn , practice and promote Vedic Scriptures . However , after attaining knowledge , his activities were against the Vedic regulations . He did every thing possible to destroy vedic faith and viewed the Rishis with utter contempt . He even went to the extent of killing the Rishis and violating the honor of saintly Women . Such "Bad-Karma" , nullified all his Divine weapons , "Tapa-sakti" , and Devotion . On the other hand , Sree Rama was humility personified . In spite of being the human incarnation of Bhagavan Maha-Vishnu , Sree Rama has always behaved with utmost humility . He respected Rishis and elders and diligently adhered to the Scriptural injunctions . He always introduced self as "Vasishta's disciple" or "Dasaratha's Son" . For fulfilling His "Swa-Dharma" , Rama abandoned own Kingdom and even His dearest wife Seeta Devi . Consequently , Sree Rama is hailed as the all time greatest King in the entire universe . Bhagavan Krishna advises in Geeta 16.23 -24 : " He who discards the rules and regulations of Vedic scriptures and acts in an arbitrary way according to his own free will, attains neither perfection nor happiness nor the supreme destination . Therefore, let the Vdic scripture be your authority in determining what should be done and what should not be done. You should perform your duty following the Scriptural injunctions. " The life of Sree Rama , is the demonstration of Scriptural Injunctions . Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya !!! SriKrishnaDasa Rajeev
Guest guest
Hare Krishna! Dear Shri Parthasarathyji , I wish to answer your questions , as follows : Question : is it right to say Ravana failed? he has done what a king has done. Answer : Ravana definitely failed . As a King , he violated his "Swadharma" (Prescibed duties) by involving in "Adharmic" activities . He freely involved in violence and crimes against women to satisfy his animal lust . Question : when so many others wives are grabbed by ravana no news came. even god did not protect others wives from ravana and his misdeeds. Answer : It is true that Ravana had harmed many women and the Devatas were helpless to stop him due to his boon . These sufferings were due to "Karmic-reactions" of the individuals . However , Bhagavan curtailed Ravana's aggression against women , through the curses by "Kubera" and "Vedavathi" . Question : both fought for wives retention/recovery. both have done right. Answer : Rama fought with Ravana to protect "Dharma" ( righteousness) . His wife Seeta-Devi , the Divine Mother could have easily and single handedly crushed Ravana. But , She restricted Herself and allowed for the destined war to eliminate the evil forces. Question : After winning rama did not protect/respect his wife..A GREAT TRAGEDY. Answer : Sree Rama loved and respected Seeta-Devi far more than His own life . He relinquished Seeta , only to fulfill "Raja-Dharma" ( King's righteousness and obligations to His subjects) . Seeta-Devi understood this situation and accepted Her husband's decision . If it was not so , She would have cursed and destroyed Rama and His entire kingdom . This Supreme sacrifice is the sacred message of Ramayana . ( Any fun-living by them ignoring "Swadharma" ( prescribed duty) , would have nullified "Ramayanam" ) . Note : Often people are confused in understanding how to live according to the Vedas . "Ramayanam" is a practical demonstrations for it . A Devotee is supposed to follow the virtuous example of Sree Rama and Seeta Devi. Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya !!!!
