Hare Krishna ! Dandavat Pranams to Bhagavan Krishna and His Bhaktas ,

Only a Rishi could portrait the life of Lord Sree Rama , the most virtuous human in world history . Maharshi Valmi has aptly done it in the epic Ramayanam .

There is a truth behind Valimiki's decision to present Lord Rama's life story as Ramayana . ` The Hero of this epic should be a Role Model for the entire mankind ` .

Valimiki enquired about such a Person to the ever-moving , Narada-muni :

" Oh revered Maharshi ! Please tell me , in this world , which King exists as the embodiment of "Raja-dharma" ; ( courageous, intelligent, truthful, administrative , grateful, selfless and wholly committed to his kingdom's welfare) ? . "

"Ayodhya's King Sree Rama" replied Narada-muni .

Listening to this advice, Valmiki composed Ramayanam, for the sake world's welfare . Bharatam is continuing the singing .

Question -1

Was it appropriate for Lord Rama to kill "Jambuka" ( the low born Sudra, who was performing "Tapas") ? .

Answer

The only son of a Brahmin couple in Ayodhya died at the age of five . Carrying the corpse of his son , that father cried aloud in front of Lord Rama's palace . This sight melted the heart of the pious king . He understood that , the Sudra's sinful "Tapas" ( which flatly violated the scriptural injunctions) , has caused this calamity . Even then Rama did not act in a haste . He sought the advice of Rishis like Vasishta and Narada to reconfirm the scriptural stipulation that warranted death penalty . Only then Rama Himself beheaded that Sudra .

It was that Sudra's greatest wish to get killed at the hands of the Lord , since it would give him "mukti " ( salvation) . So , the King has not done any injustice to that "Sudra-citizen" . Notably, king Rama did not ask any of his servant to perform that killing , but He Himself did the execution absorbed all it's "Karmic-reactions" .

Srimad Bhagavatham's Chapter 11 ( Verse 26 to 36) , describes ` Sree Rama's Rule of as King :

· During the reign of Lord Rama, the streets of capital Ayodhya, were sprinkled with perfumed water and drops of perfumes, sprinkled by elephants from their trunks. When the citizens saw the Lord personally supervising the affairs of the city in such opulence, they appreciated this opulence very much.

· The palaces, the palace gates, the assembly houses, the platforms for meeting places, the temples and all such places were decorated with golden waterpots and bedecked with various types of flags.

· Wherever Lord Rama visited, auspicious welcome gates were constructed, with banana trees and betel nut trees, full of flowers and fruits. The gates were decorated with various flags made of colorful cloth and with tapestries, mirrors and garlands.

· Wherever Lord Rama visited, the people approached Him with paraphernalia of worship and begged the Lord's blessings. "O Lord," they said, "as You rescued the earth from the bottom of the sea in Your incarnation as a boar, may You now maintain it. Thus we beg Your blessings.

· Thereafter, not having seen the Lord for a long time, the citizens, both men and women, being very eager to see Him, left their homes and got up on the roofs of the palaces. Being incompletely satiated with seeing the face of the lotus-eyed Lord Sree Rama, they showered flowers upon Him.

· Thereafter, Lord Rama entered the palace of His forefathers. Within the palace were various treasures and valuable wardrobes. The sitting places on the two sides of the entrance door were made of coral, the yards were surrounded by pillars of vaidurya-mani, the floor was made of highly polished marakata-mani, and the foundation was made of marble. The entire palace was decorated with flags and garlands and bedecked with valuable stones, shining with a celestial effulgence. The palace was fully decorated with pearls and surrounded by lamps and incense. The men and women within the palace all resembled demigods and were decorated with various ornaments, which seemed beautiful because of being placed on their bodies.

· Lord Rama, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, chief of the best learned scholars, resided in that palace with His pleasure potency, mother Sita, and enjoyed complete peace.

· Without transgressing the religious principles, Lord Sree Rama, whose lotus feet are worshiped by devotees in meditation, enjoyed with all the paraphernalia of transcendental pleasure for as long as needed.
