Hare Krsna

The yogic situation is that of detachment from all sensual engagements. Closing all the doors of the senses and fixing the mind on the heart and the life air at the top of the head, one establishes himself in yoga. GITA 8:12

True solitude arises from delinking (detaching) rather not having a relation with body, mind, sense and intellect. Whether it be solitude or company of men, a spiritual aspirant (sadhak) must not believe that his spiritual practice is dependent on a particular circumstance or situation; rather, he must make his spiritual discipline, in accordance to the available situations and circumstances. One who is desirous of solitude, becomes dependent on the situation and circumstances. He who is dependent on these circumstances, he is a seeker of pleasure (bhogi), he is not a spiritual aspirant (yogi).A spiritual aspirant (sadhak) should have neither attraction for crowds of people, nor for solitude. Salvation and spiritual upliftment, does not come from your circumstance, rather it comes from being free of desires and passion. To consider

solitude as going to places that are not infested with people or to be left alone, is a grave mistake; because this body, the seed of this entire universe is with you only. As long as there is an affinity (a link) with this body, till that time one continues to be attached and linked to the entire world. This body is a limb of the world. So detachment from the body, i.e. being free of egoism and attachment is true solitude. A spiritual aspirant having interest in solitude is good thing, however it must not be with an attachment. Insistence on solitude might cause disturbance in his inner faculties, when one does not get it, it reinforces the importance of the world.

There is a time for reflection, and there is a time for action.

Only in highly advanced stages (as in the case of Rishabhdeva, and

many other great yogis) solitude becomes a natural condition. Actually

it is the people who are so attracted to material lifestyles who run

away from such saints. Only a true seeker will seek and find a worthy

self-realised saint. Often people are led to charlatans and mischeif

mongers who pretend to be saints, and we can find thousands of such

fraud yogis in India.

Finding the perfect devotees is not so difficult these days, so many

have begun chanting harinaam, surely some of them have reached a level

of maturity which can confer upon them the status of a saint, but mark

my words, Saints like Srila Prabhupada come rarely, and we must do

everything possible to follow Srila prabhupada's teachings. Having

once determined to follow Srila Prabhupada, the path to Krishna is

cleared forever. We might still slow down due to our Karmic

obilgations, but nevertheless the Lord is watching over us and will

call us to Himself.

Srila prabhupada was and is always with krishna, irrespective of where

his body remains.
