The Japa class will be held by HIS HOLINESS NIRANJANA SWAMI, a disciple of His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada

About the Speaker:

His Holiness Niranjana Swami was born on December 10, 1952, in Lowell, Massachusetts, USA. In 1972, his spiritual search took a turning point when he saw a Bhagavad-Gita As It Is, on the counter of a bookshop in Washington, DC. After completing his study of the "Gita", he continued his research of Gaudiya Vaishnava philosophy by purchasing and reading several other publications from the same author, His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada.

During this time, he returned to Massachusetts, continued his work as a house builder, and simultaneously pursued further studies by regularly visiting the Boston ISKCON temple. By mid-1973, he accepted a monastic life, moved into the Boston temple, and accepted initiation from his spiritual master, His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, in the early spring of 1974. Soon thereafter he received brahminical initiation. In 1986, at ISKCON's world headquarters in Sri Dhama Mayapura, West Bengal, His Holiness Niranjana Swami accepted the renounced order of life, sannyasa. Since that time, wishing to satisfy his spiritual master, Niranjana Swami has been traveling extensively throughout North America, the former Soviet Union, and India, lecturing on the teachings found within the books of His Divine Grace Srila Prabhupada.

* Also, we learned that HH Niranajana Swami had surgery about a week ago. In case he is not available to hold the class then HG Yajna Purusa dasa, temple president at 26-2nd Avenue, NYC will hold the class.

* We kindly request each devotee to a limit of ONE brief question per class so that other devotees also have opportunities to ask questions. In order to keep focus on the class discussion please note any questions should be relevant to the topic of discussion.

* The Japa class will be recorded and the recording will be available upon request.

* Devotees are advised to use unlimited national long distance plans or cellular phone plans with free weekend minutes so that customary long distance charges do not apply.

* We will send an email notification each week whenever a speaker is confirmed; however, if we do not send an email notification then a lecture will not be held.

Saturdays:

8:00am - 8:40am EDTJapa Class followed by 10 minutes of Q/A

* If speaker is in another time zone ie PST then we will hold the class at 9:00am EDT. We will adjust class timings depending on speaker availability. Also, classes may be held on Sunday mornings from time to time.
