Guest guest
Hare Krishna ! Dear Bhaktas , Question Hinduism is not a religion , but just a way of life . Since Christianity and Islam are easy religions leading to the same God , why shouldn't a Hindu offer worship at Churches and Mosques ? . Answer A Hindu prefers to partake at his temple , the nutricious *Payasam * . Whereas, a Muslim relishes Beef Biriyani at Mosque ; and a Christian partakes at Church the Alcoholic-bread , both of which are forbidden in temples . Each offering's suitability depends on the eater's in-born nature . The genes of a Hindu is basically vegetarian . Eating of Beef destroys his health . Hinduism is based on *Law of Karma* , *Rebirth* and Deity-worship . However, the same is "Sins" for the Abrahamic religions . Hinduism strictly prohibits , Beef-eating and worship of Spirits . However, killing of cows and eating it's meat is sacred-rituals for both Muslims and Christians besides worshipping *Malaks* or Spirit . Bhagavan Sri Krishna says in Uddhava Gita "Among places, those devoid of devotion to the Brahmanas, those bereft of `Mahatmas' (Rishis) , places where cleanliness and purificatory rites are neglected, where Meat-eaters are prominent or where the earth is barren, are all considered to be contaminated lands. Those who are sworn to sense gratification cannot understand the confidential conclusion of Vedic knowledge as explained by Me. Taking pleasure in violence, they cruelly slaughter innocent animals in sacrifice for their own sense gratification and thus worship Leaders and Spirits . Such passion for violence, however, is never encouraged in the Vedas . " Om Namo Narayanaya !!!! Krishnadaya
Guest guest
Dear all, Radhe Krishna! What Shri. Krishnadaya has written is 100% correct. Further, Hinduism respects all religions and Gods. That does not mean that a hindu should go inside the mosque and worship. I myself had written in one of my mails earlier, that if I find a mosque or church, I stop there for a while and offer my salutations to the deity enshrined there. I do not go inside or partake of their "Prasadam", whatever it contains. I hope this is in keeping with our Hindu Dharma. Regards KVG. krishnadaya wrote: Hare Krishna ! Guest guest
Dear Prabhuji, I agree with you totally. Just as there are three kinds of foods (Sattvik,Rajasik and Tamasik) there are three kinds of human beings - those who prefer to remain good -sattvik people, those who are engaged in sense enjoyment and mundane action - Rajasik people, and those who are engaged in gross ignorance and sleep -Tamasic people. Eating Tamasic food makes them sleepy and ignorant, and they fall back into the cycle of rebirth. The Rajasic people still have a better chance, they may not be ignorant, and they stand a chance to become good, spiritually inclined and sattvic in nature. This doesnt mean that the Tamasic people have no chance. They can also start uplifting themselves gradually by following the four regulative principles. Those who are already practicing brahmcharya (abstinence) and are free from sense engagements, are the really elevated and awakened people. We find Tamasic practices amongst tribal hindus, who worship demigods and ghosts. They indulge in drinking and sense enjoyment, forgetting the purpose of life. We find awakened people too amongst Hindus, who practice their traditions, and maintain celibacy, regulated sex life(in case of householders)and refrain from excessive mundane dealings. We might find good christians and muslims also, there is a sect of muslims who are vegetarians (somewhere in Iran) and there are sects of christians who are vegans and pure vegetarians too. Those who use their holy books to justify their meat eating are in fact only furthering the causes that lead to ignorance and rebirth. To elevate mankind, Srila prabhupada encouraged even the drug addicts and drunkards of USA and Europe to give up their degenerative lifestyles and take to Krishna Consciousness, and follow the four regulative principles, so that they are freed from the cycle of rebirth. These four essential principles laid out by Srila Prabhupada are:- Avoidance of Meat,Fish and Eggs Avoidance of Illict sexual relations Avoidance of intoxication(alcohol, drugs, coffee, tea etc) Avoidance of Gambling and Speculation Once one is free from the cycle of rebirth, one should not sit idle. One should perform selflessly duties like elevating others, researching scriptures, helping the mankind around to develop a sense of faith in the Lord and so on. Guest guest
All the Religions originated from East (India) are Brahamic Religions (There is one Brahman we believe). The Western religions are Abrahamic Religions (started from Abraham). Happens to be similar difference such as Hinsa and Ahinsa. Just a coincidence perhaps? Regards, Jagdish krishnadaya Sunday, November 16, 2008 3:09 AM Can a Hindu Worship at Church or Mosque ? Hare Krishna ! Dear Bhaktas , Question Hinduism is not a religion , but just a way of life .
