Glory of *Srimad Narayaneeyam*

Deterioration of Dharma and consequent sufferings all around, necessitated an updated Vedic scripture . Thus manifested , Bhagavan Krishna’s *Srimad Narayaneeyam* gift to His Bhaktas .

Sri Melpathur Narayana Bhattathiri , a brilliant Sanskrit poet and an ardent Krishna-Bhakta had been paralyzed . Abiding to a divine intuition , Bhattathiri compiled *Narayaneeyam* sitting in front of Sri Krishna’s Deity in Guruavayoor temple .

After writing each Sloka, Bhattathiri would recite it to Krishna . Bhagavan helped him with His nod and corrections . When the Poet had difficulty in describing *Narasimha* form , Bhagavan displayed it to him . When Bhattathiri sated *Prahladapriya* Bhagavan said : “ Not only Prahlada , all Bhaktas are dear to Me” .

On the last and 100th day , Bhagavan Krishna gave His glorious vision to Bhattathiri . The last Chapter is a graphical head to foot description of this “Vision” . Immediately after this vision , Bhattathiri’s paralysis was cured . He was only 27 then . And thereafter, he lived a healthy life up to the age of 87 .

*Narayaneeyam* is part of Guruvayoor temple’s daily rituals . Every morning, Bhagavan wakes up listening to it .

The ‘Parayana' (reading) of *Narayaneeyam*confers great healing benefits ; it is an effective faith therapy . It is recited as a general prayer and also as a panacea for all types of ailments . The personal experiences of the Poet himself have proved it’s healing power beyond doubt . The *Nithyaparayana* of *Narayaneeyam* will bestow with *Ayur-arogya-soukhyam (health, freedom from diseases and happiness) .
