Hare Krsna

A devotee may have any of the following expressions of devotion with God - a servant, friend, a child or lover. With either expression, the devotee is not seperate from God; because in true love, God and his devotee are One and from being One, they become two. And more so, on being two also, they ever remain one. Therefore between the lover and the beloved, sometimes the Master becomes the Servant, sometimes the Servant becomes the Master. It is said that "Sevak swami sakhaa siya pi ke" - (Manasa. Bala. 15:2) Sometimes God becomes the object of adoration of the devotee, and other times the devotee becomes the object of adoration of God -"Ishtosi mein drdhmiti." (Gita 18:64). Sometimes Shri Krishna becomes Radha, and other times Radha becomes Shri Krishna. In Knowledge there is Eternal peace, but in true Love there is everlasting, every

moment ever increasing Love. This does not mean that there is something lacking or incomplete in this love. It does not mean that to arrive at completeness, the love is increasing. In reality, the love does not decrease or increase. Just like in the depths of the ocean there is stillness, but on the surface there are waves, and with the gravitational pull of the moon, the waves seem to rise and fall, with high level of activity. But inspite of the rising waves, the water in the ocean does not decrease or increase, it remains the same. Similarly in this necter filled, everlasting love there are waves, but the love never increases or diminishes. When love quietens down, the lover and the beloved become one and inseparable. And when there is longing and turmoil within then lover and beloved are two, inspite of being one, which is longing in separation

(viraha). While on being two, they remain one is Unity. The every moment, ever increasing love (divine nectar), is called "Raas". Imagine one who is so thirsty, that his thirst is never quenched and at the same time the water for quenching the thirst never decreases. Rather, the stomach is never full, and in every sip there is always new nectar. It is similar with the Lord and His devotees. The name of this type of love is called "Raaslila".
