Guest guest
Of the nine processes of devotional service, the most important is to always chant the holy name of the Lord. If one does so, avoiding the ten kinds of offenses, one very easily obtains the most valuable love of Godhead.Caitanya Caritamrta Antya 4.71 Deliverer of Drowning Souls Hare Krsna my dear devotees, I hope you have had nice festivals this week, the appearance Day of Lord Nityananda was celebrated here at home. We prepared a beautiful cake, kachoris, dhal and rice and we chanted our rounds in association .The boys chanted 1 extra round on this day and also worshipped our Deities of Gaura Nitai offering Them flowers, incense, garlands and bathing with honey, yogurt and rose water. We are making bhajans everyday here and the kids feel very enthusiastic when devotees come to sing along with them. Today we had a namahatta at home and it was so nice while I was bathing the Deities again, listening to beautiful bhajans coming from the living room - it's so nice to hear the Holy Names being chanted in a very soft and devotional way....fills our heart with this love and association is really important.I was thinking about how the Holy names give us everything in all aspects - we become more devotional because it's a purifying process and when we take it seriously we can see this purification coming from inside and molding us into devotees - devoted souls that just by looking at the Lord and remembering Him we become satisfied.By engaging our senses in this process we can achieve eternal bliss and we will never be attached to sense gratification anymore. It's like when we first took a full dish of prasadam we wouldn't like to have anything else - we became addicted to the Lord's remnants and mercy so we don't want any other kind of food. The same happens with the holy names, they change our inner self and removes the dust that covers our pure love for Krsna and sets an eternal relationship with the Lord through the sound. The sound is the Lord Himself and as much as we hear we become reconnected to the Supreme and will never feel like abandoning Him again. Here is a beautiful verse from Nityanandastakam, I hope you appreciate it and are able to feel how merciful He is towards us. " I perpetually worship Sri Nityananda, the root of the tree of krishna-bhakti, who is very dear to the son of Saci devi and who is worshiped by the entire universe. He is the embodiment of happiness and out of infinite mercy he is chanting the holy names of Lord Hari, thus delivering the souls drowning in the age of Kali and eradicating the swelling false pride of the ocean of repeated birth and death. " May the power of devotees association soften your heart and your chanting becomes pure and devoted.your servant,Aruna devi -- LET US NOT MAKE OUR STOMACH A GRAVEYARD. LET US NOT EAT FLESH. LET US BE VEGETARIANS AND STAY HEALTHY. Animals are to be loved, not eaten. Eating flesh is good neither for the mind nor for the intellect, not even for the body. It distorts the basic character of human. Think Soul is Soul and it came from the Supreme Soul...God Head Krishna Chant:Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna Hare HareHare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama Hare Hare
