Guest guest
Hare Krishna ! Its good to know that the devaswom is welcoming suggestions from everyone for improvement of worship.Comparing to many other temples I always find Guruvayoor as well kept and disciplined with religious principles. It is something very appreciable and optimisation of the same for betterment would do good to many. The darshan time I always find the crowd grooming in .It is enough if the person can stay for a second or more But the crowd pushing him is lil difficult to nurture.I guess let the crowd be as such till the main door few steps before darshan place. Can we have a stopper there to allow only limited number of persons a single queue by interval ? There could very well be a suggestion box put up outside the Temple doors. Hari Bol ! Your humble servant, Kesavan Sunil Menon [bhagawan] Thursday, August 05, 2004 10:38 PM guruvayur Guruvayoor temple improvement plans ~~~~Loka Samastha Sukhino Bhavantu (May all the people of the world be happy)~~~~~ Dear Devotees, As many of you may be aware, the number of people visiting Guruvayoor temple has dramatically increased over the period of years. This brings up tough challenges involving management, services and facilities, as one can imagine. We know that Devaswom authorities are constantly improving services. However, as Guruvayoorappan devotees, we all can do some great service to the lord by participating in the improvement process. For example, we may help the temple authorities with better plans, ideas and projects using our experiences from other temples, places of worship etc. We may also donate our expertise and time doing some projects for Guruvayoorappan. For many of us living far from Guruvayoor, I think it will be a great way to serve the Lord. Before jumping into ideas or plans of improvement, please post your past experiences, if any, with such tasks. Also, suggestions for effectively conveying and implementing such plans and projects with the bureaucracy of Devaswom. [like any other governing body these days] Your valuable suggestions, comments and constructive criticism are welcome. Om Namo Narayanaya: In the service of Lord.. Guest guest
SRI RAMA JAYAM Recently when I visited Sri Guruvayoor Ambalam, I found the walled-statues of great saints & devotees deteriorated with cobwebs & old bird feathers. I beg the Temple committee to maintain these ultra valuable heritage. It's nice to read that "Devaswom" is inviting suggestions from devotees & well wishers now. Also, it's the moral responsibility of every devotee to respect & care for the temple rules & regulations. Together we can make a positive change. May Sri Guruvayoorappan help all of us to live & let others also live well. Guest guest
Folks: Thanks for the suggestions. BUT Seems like there is some confusion regarding who sent the earlier mail. Let me make this very clear as I mentioned in the earlier mail, I AM NO WAY CONNECTED TO THE DEVASWOM AND IT IS NOT THE DEVASWOM initiating suggestions, but devotees like you and me doing this as a service. Please read the earlier mail before you reply. Also suggestions are easy to come, but how to make the temple authorities implement it is the major question. I think if we all come together and work towards it as group, we might be able to make some good changes with God's grace. Guest guest
Sunil, Hari Om! My name is Pravin and I am from Trissur, Kerala. My Late mothers place is in Guruvayoor. Currently I am stationed in Dubai. Your suggestion to welcome temple improvement plans is a welcome gesture and I too would like to contribute to this cause. Often in life we just expect some one to come in a do everything, but in this case we need everybody to participate, and come out with good and reasonable suggestion. Eventually this could be taken up the devesom authorities in a project form rather than a case by case basis. I would like to suggest a broad frame work for this project that would include the following and may be more based on further suggestion in this respect Improvement in the basic amenities for pilgrims Increase in temple revenue Increase in employment opportunities for all Each of the above can be further divided in to more sub categories and each of those items can be further discussed to arrive at the best solution. If you agree to the above I am willing to spend more time and work on getting into more details on this. Once we get the broad frame work ready, we can set-up a questionnaire which could be circulated among our friends and relative or anybody who could help us in getting the best available suggestion. We may have to face some unwanted and irrelevant suggestions and comments which could be ignored considering the noble cause involved. Narayana Narayana Narayana... Guest guest
i am in chennai and wish to involve in this serve to guruvayoorappan. this is a good topic that sunil brought up but i think it is not taking shape because there is no clear structure to our approach. pravin, what you say will provide the structure. i would like to add the following to the framework : 1) are the priests and their being taken good care of ? what about the cooks and other servants of the lord ? what steps should be taken to protect their interests. 2) the temple should try to educate people on the teachings of adi sankara, narayana bhattathiri, poonthanam and other great saints associated with the temple. we can work out regulr courses, multimedia programs etc. hba9331 <pravin9 wrote: Sunil,Hari Om!
