Salutations to all dear devotees of one & only dearmost Lord Sri

Guruvayoorappan.

It's Vaikuntha Ekadasi - Mokshada Ekadasi, a day beginning with the name of the

abode of Lord of 14 worlds - Sri Narayana/Sri Krishna/Sri Rama............as

devotees love to address him. This name perfectly suits the thinking that world

is the home of Lord, where he performs his cosmic role as a friend, as saviour,

as lover, as son, as father and many more. Here, I remember a song - " Dhanumasam

adyathe buddhanazchayaminnu Guruvayoor kshetrathil aghosham...........Dwapara

yugathil njan bhagavane kanuvan dwarikayil chenna punya dinam.....innu punya

dinam " rendered by Unni menon from the album " Agrepashyami " , where the poet

imagines himself as none other than fortunate " Kuchela " who is reflected as a

supreme devotee to the Lord of Vrindavanam, all through in Bhagavattam. This

chapter of cosmic drama played by Krishna & Kuchela perhaps stands among a few

countable heart-robbing episodes narrated by Sri Vyasa deva. Thanks to him for

having generated such a beautiful illustration of eternal bondage b/w Bhakta &

Bhagavan. In one sense, Vyasa deva points out that every being on earth is a

Kuchela trapped in a circle of material chains fighting to preserve his/her love

for Lord. And that Love is unconditionally accepted by Lord, expressing his

gratitude in tears & absolutely no words to speak. Lord feels that he is in

debt to his devotee and happily promises - " Yogakshema Vahamyaham " - " I will

bear the well-being & prosperity of every one who surrenders unto me, no matter

who/what he is " .

May this world be a better place to live. Celebrate & share this auspicious

occasion.

Putting a link, sharing a good info on different Ekadasi's & their Mahatmyams.

Will be a useful one for all of us.

Once again - A VERY HAPPY " VAIKUNTHA EKADASI " .

And a very warm welcome to all new members to this wonderful group.

[Guruvayur/Guruvayoor] Vaikunda Ekadasi/Kuchela Dinam - December 22nd

Wednesday

Dear Devotees,

Hari Om!

December 22nd Wednesday is very special as it is

Vaikunda Ekadasi as well as Kuchela Day.

The first Wednesday of the month of 'Dhanu' is

celebrated as Kuchela Dinam. It is based on the belief

that it was on this day that Kuchela, an ardent

devotee of Lord Krishna offered Avil (parched rice) to

him and in return attained eternal bliss and material

property . Avil offering is considered auspicious on

this day.

Those who can read Malayalam can check out Mathrubhumi

Vaikunda Ekadasi -

Vaikunda Ekadasi is also known as

Mukthi Ekadasi, Bheeshma Ekadasi. Krishna BhagavAn

is said to have performed GithOpadesam (Gita

preaching) to ArjunA

on the battle field of Kurukshethram on this day.

Hence this day is also known as

GeethA Jayanthi day in some parts of India.

Loka Samastha Sukhino Bhavantu.. (May all beings be

happy).
