---------------------------

The pads & chaupayis (4 sentenced) are in Awadhi (Language of Ayodhya/Awadh),

followed by English translitration & then the English purport.

Let me draw an outline before you read it.

Saint Thulasidas is assumed to be the incarnation of Sage Valmiki in the

kali-age. Being an eternal devotee of Sri Ramachandra, he is constantly under

the protection of the divine company of Sri Anjaneya Swami. Hence, " Sri

Ramacharit Manas " is reflected as a combined effort of Thulasidas & Lord

Anjaneya. Most portions of this divine text is accomplished near the banks of

Mandakini (near Chithrakoot) & Ganga (in Kashi). There are four ghats (concreted

sides) being picturized, where four sectors of devotees are hearing to Sri

Ramakathamritam.

1) Thulasidas discussing with the Kashi saints in presence of Sri Hanuman.

2) Sage Agastya retelling it to Sriman Mahadeva & Devi Sati (..... & not

Parvati...)

3) Kaakbhusundi (a crow devotee of Lord Rama who is blessed with the opportunity

to watch the cosmic drama of first 5 yrs of Ramavataram in Ayodhya in every

cycle of

4 yugas) unfolding the greatness of Sri Rama to the bird king - Garuda.

Garuda was under the illusion as to why the all-potent lord could not save

himself from the

Nagapasham send by Meghanad. To eradicate this belief, Lord Shiva himself

ordered Garuda to seek the company of a crow who will pacify all his doubts &

make him

a stable devotee.

4) Sage Yagnavalkya describing it to sage Bharadwaj in the piuos land of

Prayagkshetram.

After completing his writing, Thulasidas wandered a lot to get his text

certified (especially to the saints of Kashi - considered to be the supreme).

But, they refused to grant

their certification for the main language used was not sanskrit & did not

addressed any of the then-existing doctrines. Sri Anjaneya swami reached out to

comfort his Lord's poet & suggested him to place his text at the lotus feet of

Kashinathan - the most compassionate one. The same night Thulasidas arreanged

for everything as asked by Anjaneya. The entire residents of kashi witnessed

this unusual scene, when Thulasidas pledged to protect the purity of his writing

in front of Mahadeva. To every one's astonishment on the next morning, Nandi

came out of the statue & ate up the offerings kept along with the text & made 3

pradakshinas to it. When Thulasidas was asked to open the first page, everyone

witnessed the shining impact of Mahadeva's Trishulam assigned there. That was a

direct indication of the certification.

Hare Krishna.........

Hare Rama...........
