Thank you dear Narasimhamji, for your e mail. I was

fortunate to have been able to read the Narayaneeyam

under a guru [my grandmother]. I was interested in

reading bhagavatam, when I bought those four volumes

and was reading the translations. but then to read the

slokas I think I need some one to introduce me to the

tune etc.

Regards

Sunita

Sri Guruvayoorappa Sharanam!

Thats great! You are already well into your goal. I have never read the

Bhagavatham under a tutelage, hence am unaware of the metre's (tune) for each

canto except that of the Narayana Kavacham, which we learn while learning the

Narayaneeyam. You are indeed fortunate to have your Narayaneeyam guru be your

own grandmother.

I sincerely pray you are able to obtain " Sharanagati " with a guruji for the

Bhagavatham.

Another resource that I found to be of value w.r.t gaining a better

understanding of the Bhagavatham (including the pronunciation of specific

slokams) is a set of video CD's (play on the computer window media player) of

pravachan's by Pandit Rameshbhai Ojha. I am currently in the process of viewing

these and have not completed the entire set.

Jai Shri Krishna!

Thank you very much Shri Narasimhanji, for your e

mail. I will pray too that I find a guru. I have a

guru who teaches several other slokas to a group of 10

people. He knows Bhagavatam. But I am not sure if I

should approach him, because it would be such a big

commitment for him. He is already so busy with

community service here in the US. May be I pray to the

LORD and he will guide me.
