!!Hari Aum!!

Shree Narasimhan's reference of slokas from Chapter 2

is very apt.

They throw light on the mechanics of the build up of

'desires'.

e.g. the slokas nos.62 & 63.

In a nut shell it all begins in the mind.

As we dwell more on a 'thing' we get to 'associate'

with it more, which leads to the 'build'up of

'desire'for the 'thing'.

Strength of the 'desire' equals the 'anger' which

creates 'illusion'.

Once one falls into the trappings of 'illusion',

'frustrations' and 'bewilderments' start showing up.

It doesn't take much time for a person then to start

losing his discriminatory abilities, common sense, and

finally the 'intellect'which holds the keys to

'ethics' and 'values'.

With the abandoning of the 'intellect' the person

perishes.

The evidence of this can be read in the news papers

everyday, people committing innumerable crimes out of

sheer 'anger' and 'desire'.

Is Life's purpose is the 'fullfillment' of all

'desires'? If it is to reach the state of

'desirelessness' what are the mechanics? I think sloka

59 of the same chapter has a hint.

Hope there will be lots of our members who can

contribute valuable info on these matters.

Looking ahead to very vibrant discussions.

Om Namo Narayanayah
