Guest guest
" HARI AUM HARI " The page from Kanchi kamakoti magazine mailed by Shree Venky is very poignant. As we had earlier discussed in this forum, the material world exists for one to get over it and realise the true self. As the mailer itself says-one has to know and act his 'dharma' to move on to 'artha' which will lead to 'kama' and 'moksha'. It is very much like any journey we undertake. Most of us start the journey but get off at the wrong stations. That is why we see many indulging in the material world. Now here is a catch- Seeing the torments these mortals undergo one presumes that 'arhta' and 'kama' are bad in itself. This forces the person to start living negatively by negating everything material. The materials which are in itself is required for one to move forward is being kept outside the realm of worthwhile living. In such a situation instead of progressing, the person start degressing and ultimately losses out in life. In fact Arjuna was mouthing similar 'glorious' philosophies when it was time for him to perform his 'dharma'and move on to 'artha', 'kama' and to 'moksha'. Arjuna expected Krishna to join him but his reply was like slap on the face : 'kuthastwa kasmalamidham.... uthithishta paramthapa.'' (verse 2 & 3 of Chapter 2- the first time Bhagavan speaks after listening to Arjuna's long brilliant philosophysing which is also seemingly logical till we start listening to Bhagavan) Bhagavan starting from the second chapter logically takes one thru the realms of true understanding. Great is his 'Song' and blessed we are to have it with us to make our 'mokshas'. Looking ahead for more of such mailers. Narayana Narayana Narayana Balagopal _____ Too much spam in your inbox?
