Guest guest
Dear Mr. Arun Pillai: Jai Radhe Krishna! Many thanks for sending the screen saver for us devotees. It is really nice and helps us even more in our attempts at constant Naamsankeertan and further enhances our devotion to the lord. I am posting a " Sandesh " sent by Pujya Bhaishri Rameshbhai Ojha on " listening to the Bhagavatham " . For those who are interested, please visit www.sandipani.org. By registering (for free) in this site you get monthly sandesh and quotable quotes of Bhaishriji that make for several thoughtful moments. I hope you all enjoy this " Sandesh " Jai Shri Krishna Narasimhan Nagan Jai Shri Krishna In order to enjoy the nectar of Bhagwat katha three things are essential for the listener; concentration of mind, purity of heart and a favourably inclined contemplation. Favourably inclined contemplation implies listening with a positive attitude. Such a positive attitude is required in the case of listening to Bhagwat katha because it is extremely beneficial for us in showing us the path to salvation. It facilitates our emancipation. We can afford to adopt an attitude of argumentation if something is being said against our interest. But when something which is in our own ultimate interest is being discussed it is only wise to adopt a positive attitude. Shrimad Bhagwat katha is not just a narration of God's glory. It is the essence of all narratives His magnificence, the sum and substance of Vedas and Upanishads. It depicts how the vivek (intellect) borne out of Bhakti, Gyan and Vairagya can be enhanced. It shows how devotees can liberate themselves from moha (attachments) and maya (allurements). Therefore one should listen to it attentively with total concentration. . And why is it important for one to listen to it with total attention? Here are four sound reasons for doing so. Firstly it is the essence of all scriptures. Secondly it frees us from fear of this world. Thirdly it enhances our devotion. And fourthly, 'Krishnasantoshhetukam' i.e. it pleases and satisfies Lord Shri Krishna. . Read and listen to Shrimad Bhagwat katha as much as possible. It is truly in our benefit. With Blessings, Bhaishri
