Guest guest Posted June 30, 2005 Report Share Posted June 30, 2005 A poor lady went to a shop to purchase groceries and told the grocer to allow her credit for her purchases.The grocer refused and said as she did not hv a credit account he cld not oblige.The lady said in a choking voice that her husband is sick and could not go for work and she has seven children and needed badly things for their food.The grocer got wild and asked her to leave the place.The lady pleaded that she will pay the amount soon but the grocer remained adament.A customer was watching this and being kind told the grocer that he would stand as a guarantor for the lady and allow her to get the groceries.After some murmer the grocer asked the lady whether she had the listof the things she wanted.The lady said yes and took from her bag a paper and wrote something and with great reverence gave the same to the grocer her head bowing in prayers.He did not see what is the content. The grocer told her to put the same on the scale and he would give her the groceries to the weight of the list.The lady with great faith put the list on the scale and the scale went down and down.The grocer and the customer got atonished.However the grocer put the groceries on the other scale and the other scale never went down..He put more and more groceries till the scale could hold to its maximum.In disgust he took the paper which was put bythe lady and to his amazement he saw she had written "Dear Lord,you know my needs and I am leaving everything in your hands'.The grocer became flabbergasted and gave the groceries to the lady and she thanked him and went.The customer smiled and paid some amount and said that is worth every paisa. Of course this won't happen in the present day world and it is only a story to emphasise the fact that only God knows how much a prayer weighs.Sincere prayers always hv their own weight and God answers the same if the same comes from the deepness of one's mind.No one can go back a brand new start.But anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending by sincere prayers.God has never promised days without pain,laughter without sorrow,sun without rain but He did promise strength for the day,comforts for the tears,and light for the day.Disappointments in life are like the road bumps.This slows one a bit but enjoy the smooth run afterwards.So one shuld not stay on the bump for long but move on.If something bad happens one shuld not get discouraged and lament but inculcate the faith in the mind that better things will come soon by the Grace of the Lord. There is a purpose to life's events to teach one how to laugh and not to cry too hard when things go bad and with humble and devoted prayers many things that seemed unsurmountable can be made a cake walk.This is the experience of eversomany people in their lifes.Things which hv frustrated and abandoned hv gone in favour by concentrated prayers.This is the law of nature.The Creator who had defined the laws had included this also as we can see many of our sincere prayers in utterly hopeless situations hv been miraculously answered in our favour to our astonishment.It is the way of God to test the devotee and the process can't be comprehended by our clouded minds.But the fact speaks that sincere prayers are answered in all circumstances when the devotee gets choked.So get remained blessed always in the thought of God and the unswerving faith and prayers wll never let one down in all troubles provided they are of good nature and the cause is a good one.
