Guest guest
Though there are varying theories in Puranas,Vedas and other Scriptures, they accept in total unanimity that the creation has happened when the three gunas which were in equilibrium got disturbed. This disturbance phenomenon differs from the various theories.According to Vedic theory the eternal Brahman who is the source of the Universe is without a beginning and an end. This is also considered as the sourceof beginning and also rest.Lord Brahma also known as Kshetragnya supposed to be lying inside the cosmic egg which is known as Prakriti. He is also known as Hiranyagarbha as Hiranya denotes Life-Light principle which vibrates within him.It is stated that the Cosmic egg contains all the seven worlds namely--Bhu,Bhuvah,Swarga,MakaraJana,Thapa amd Sathya-the earth with seven continents and oceans, the Sun and Moon, the planets and stars. To be precise, it is believed that the entire universe lies within the cosmic egg totally in a dormant state.Ths Cosmic egg is covered or enveloped by seven covers or sheets made up of four elements fire, water, air and space. So the Brahma who is also inside disturbs the three gunas viz.Rajas,Tamas and Sattvic and created the first principle known as Mahat or the Great Atom or the first atom of the universe. This process is known as "Prakrita Creation". This action or creation took place in a flash of lightning without any planning.Hence no reasons have been given attributed to this process and it has happened just like that. The Vedas go one step further and state that creation of Mahat followed by various creation process happen on a normal basis at the end of each Kalpa. The vedic theory tries to emphasise that this involution and evolution is a continuous process and there is no exact starting point or end. This sudden creation of Mahat or the great principle can be cmpared to the big explosion occured at the time time of creation- fifteen billion years ago as per the Big Bang Theory. In the theory of Devigeetha which is basically a conversation between Lord Shiva and His consort Devi. The Goddess requested Lord Shiva to explain the process of creation to her and Lord describes her the process in detail in this Devigeetha. It states that before the creation there is nothing including Time as there is no movement.Lord Shiva is there in unmanifested form-'Aroopam"- may be packed up energy in latent form or in dormant stage. At this stage He is called Parabrahman. This form of Shiva is beyond the imagination of any earthly mortals. It is a phenomena by itself and has to be accepted as such,as we do normally in Physics. This state wherein everything is dormant can be called as Maya- a state wherein everything is there as well as nothing is there-may be an infinite state. This dormant energy is the starting point for the creation of the universe. From the dormant energy came Aakas,Vayu,Agni,Apas(water), and Prithvi. Each of these elements possesses their own significant or special characteristics like sound, touch, roopam, taste and smell. These are called Tanmatras.(Tat-own, Matra-vibration).The Universe or Jagat in its embryo form remain in these Tanmatras and then by proper division and combination with bhoothas all the material objects come out in manifested state. The other theories are based on Puranic and Sankhya Philosophy. The creation has been divided into two sections-Sarga and Pratisarga. In the Sarga which maybe called as 'Primary creation' starts with basic atom followed by molecular theory just like any other western theory. The 'Secondary creation' otherwise known as Pratisarga deals with the formation of compounds/genes from the atoms or molecules created in Sarga. The ancient seers of vedic era dwelled deep into various aspects of creation, annihilation, deluge, time and space concept etc. than the ritualistic society created by the later day society. The sages of the vedic era dived deep into the depths of both visible and invisible universe by their so called 'divine vision' or may be whatever scientific means available in their time. They are more scientific in their approach in unearthing the myths of evolution. Two things hv been brought to light by them the Manifested things and the Unmanifested things.Manifested things are quite visible and felt day in and day out and so its existence is accepted. But there are very many unmanifested things in the form of invisible energies like cosmic energies which bring about major changes in the manifested objects.Hence the existence of these unmanifested things cannot be disproved as we are not able to prove it but has to be taken as the basic tenets of our scriptures. Mahat or the first atom is the startig point from which many units come out and these units are known as Ahamkara. Here also the three gunas rajo, tamas, sattvic are the root cause for the process of creation. These three gunas are nothing but motion, rhythm and inertia. To have a better idea by thecommon man they called it as 'Brahma,Vishnu,Shiva' as the respective Lords. From the sattvic ahamkara arise the conscious unit which may be called Devas.Rajas otherwise known as 'taijasa' gives out organs of sense and action and 'manas'.Tamas otherwise known as Bhutadi brings out elements.Tamasic state need not be taken as total inertia but minimum state of vibration. This is a new or unique concept developed in our scrptures. Thus the evolution takes place at the maximum state of vibration at the starting of Kalpa and goes to minimum state of vibration at the close of Kalpa.
