Pre-qualification of Master Planners/Project Consultants for the development of Guruvayur Pilgrim Township, Kerala

 

 

 

 

 

MASTER PLANNERS WANTED TOPRESERVE GURUVAYUR FOR ETERNITY

 

 

Guruvayur. One of the most important Hindu pilgrim centers of India. Home to the Guruvayur Temple,one of the greatest Krishna shrines in the country and the second largest in terms of pilgrim arrivals. Every year, Guruvayur-whicha has an area of only 7.476 sq.Km and about 22,000 permanent residents-hosts three crore pilgrims, including those arriving for marriages and annaprasams. Which has put the land as well as its people under tremendous strain. And necessitated the creation of an exclusive township.

 

 

 

 

The Government of Kerala invites pre-qualification bids from master planners/project consultants in India and abroad to conceptualise and monitor the execution of a master plan for the development of a pilgrim township at Guruvayur.

Scope of work | The master plan should address the following issues.

 

Augmentation of basis infrastructure including roads, power and water supply and facilities for parking, telecommunications etc. Upgradation of civic amenities like drinking water, public comfort stations, information centers etc. Formulation of effective solid and liquid waste management systems Setting up a range of boarding and lodging options, including rest and relaxation motels, bed and breakfast hotels etc. Commercial development including shopping centers, restaurants, food courts etc. Accessibility planning including ring roads, approach roads etc. System for pilgrim traffic flow and management Security and emergency services including hospital, fire force etc. Area improvement and beautification

Eligibility criteria | The consultancy and management of the project will be awarded to a Consultant or a Consortium of Consultants who can offer globally competitive and cost-effective solutions. The Consortium should ideally comprise architectural firms, town planners, engineers etc. Applicants should have successfully planned and supervised at least one completed project in the last seven years. Local consultants having valid collaborations with international firms may also having valid collaborations with international firms may also apply. The master plan should be submitted in three months. Selection Process | The pre-qualified consortia will be asked to submit technical and financial bids and make a presentation before a committee. The Government of Kerala reserves the right to accept or reject any application with out assigning any reason whatsoever.

How to apply | Those interested may apply seeking terms of reference, site details etc., with a crossed demand draft for Rs-10,000/- payable to the Govt of Kerala on or before the 20th of July 2005.

Offers should be accompanied by complete details of your firm, year of establishment, in-house facilities, qualification and expertise of the service consultants and technical/non-technical personnel.Details and photographs of projects of value not less than Rs 10 crores with details of clients, work, proposed date of completion etc. should also be enclosed.
