When the minds of people are clouded with material aspects of life there is no wonder that they forget their own position in this world and the ever increasing ambitions put the Divinity in the shredder. To remove such anamoly the Divine

Force descends in human form to guide the otherwise aimless life led by the

humanity. The advent of Lord Krishna was one such Avatar which signifies the dispelling of darkness, the removal of troubles, banishing ignorance and teaching mankind supreme wisdom.Krishna is said to hv been born in Mathura, grew up in Brindaban and finally established himseld in Dwaraka.

This for the sadhaka signifies 'Let Krishna be born in the Gokulam of his mind.Let Him grow and play pranks in his heart, let Him then be fixed in the Chitta of Mathura

and finally let Him rule over the agitation free consciousness as the Lord and

Master of Dwaraka of his mind.

Krishna is the symbol of idealism.Krishna was able to give a lead and act as an example in all spheres of activity. We normally concentrate on His Divine aspects. So long as we concentrate on His divine aspects we forget the good qualities in Him will rarely come to our attention in their proper perspective. To understand the human aspects of Krishna we hv to go back to the time in which He lived.Humility and Obedience were the hallmarks of Krishna. Some may doubt abt this aspects of Krshna. The reason being the portrayal of Him in movies and texts we get the unusual doubt of Him being the fighter with kings and make them run away from their thrones. Some also believe that we worship Him blindly without taking into consideration the scheming ways in which He got His wishes carried out.But if we carefully go thru the Mahabharatha we get the unmistakeable impression that humility and obedience were present in abundant measures in Krishna.

God has taken many avatars to redeem humanity and the most attractive one is that of Krishna. There can't be two opinions on this. The very word Krishna means 'one who attracts'-Krishyathi iti Krishnah' is another derivation for the name.Krishna is one who cultivates. This implies that Krishna is the Lord who cultivates the hearts of the devotees by removing weeds of ignorance and sowing the seeds of good qualities and growing the crop of love.Krishna thus means the One who cultivates our hearts and raises in them the crop of Bliss.

The letters Ka,Ra,Sha,Na hv been intrepreted as signifying the glorious attributes of Krishna.

Ka- represents Kamalakantha (the Lord of Lakshmy.Other meaning is Kamaleshwara or the Lord of the Lotus-the inner meaning is that when divinity is manifested within us,the heart blooms like a lotus before the Sun.'Ka' thus

symbolises the Sun principle also.

Ra--represents the principle of delight.

Sha-- represents Vishnu, the source of all wealth and progeny.

Na--symbolises Narasimha Avatar.

Krishna whereever He was always in a state of Bliss. The Gita is a song and becoz Krishna was the embodiment of joy,He could sing even on the battle field without any problem as He is Bliss in human form during the time of the Great Kurukshetra war.The individual who can satisfy his yearning pertaining to the Divine can be called Krishna.

Krishyathi iti Krishna-- one who cultivates is Krshna.

Karshathi iti Krishna-- one who attracts is Krishna.

Kurshyathi iti Krishna- one who is always Blissful is Krishna.

The above are the forms of Sat,Chit,Ananda and these are present in all yugas.Kunti addresses Krishna as Madhava.'Ma' means Lakshmy and it also means Maya(illusions). The word Dhava means Master. In this sense Krishna is the Master of Nature,Lakshmy and Maya.

Everything in this world is controlled by certain laws of nature. The elements contributing earth and the vast ocean are controlled by certain laws and

regulations.Since man's life is part of the world it has to be regulated.Whether it is for love, hatred or anger some regulation is necessary.Such regulation has been beautifully portrayed by Krishna in His life time.Human beings commits the gravest mistake by themselves by forgetting the inherent Divinity that is present in all and identifying themselves with their bodies.Krishna appeared in human form to correct this error so as to make the human beings to transcend their body consciousness and make them realise their divinity.A devotee said

'Is it possible Oh Krishna to recognise your majesty? You are subtler than an atom and vaster than the vastest thing in creation. You permeate every nook and corner of the Cosmos, you are present in the good and in the wicked and make them play their respective roles. You are in the accusor and in the accused. How can any one understand your Divine mystery?'.Every word of Krishna was replete with spiritual significance. He acted according to circumstances and donned different roles from a child of mischief to become the finest of Teachers. He protected His devotees according to the situations in which they were placed in times of difficulties. He destroyed the evil doers without mercy according to the seriousness of their misdeeds. In no circumstances He showed mercy to the wrong doers and His Will was the Law.No wonder He is considered as the Poorna Avatar by the devotees by dedicating, loving, surrendering themselves on His Lotus Feet.
