Guest guest Posted August 10, 2005 Report Share Posted August 10, 2005 In olden days when there were no cars,people used to travel on horse backs also.In a village a rich man was having 19 horses.He died due to old age.In his will he wrote that half of the horses shuld be given to his only son,one fifth to the village temple,and one fifth to his loyal servant. The elders who were supposed to look after the matter were in a quandry as how to divide the horses in that way.How could they give half of the 19 horses without cutting a horse.They spend two weeks carrying this dilemma and finally decided to call a wise man from the neighbouring village to solve this probem.He came in his horse riding.The elders of the village told their problem and the contents of the will.The wise man said he would solve the problem and he made all the 19 horses to stand in a row and added his horse also thusmaking the total to 20.Then he divided half the numbers ie.10 to the son of deceased person,one fourth ie 5 horses to the temple and one fifth ie 4 to the servant and thus making 19 and the remaining being his horse he took the same and solved the problem of the village elders.They got astounded of his wisdom.While departing he also gave some advise. In our day to activities add the name of God also which will protect one from all calamities.For that absolute dedication and faith are essential and concentrate on Him by doing Meditation etc and wisdom will automatically come.All the troubles will vanish just like ice when heated becomes water which will eventually evaporate and becomes steam and disappears.So too a devotee's dedication will work miracles for him.It is easy to push the boat when the same is floating on water but to drag the same on dry land the same will be somewhat difficult.So float the worldly activities with the name of God(God Principle) on the river or sea of samsara with full love,faith and dedication and all troubles will melt away like ice with the Benign Grace of God and makes His devotee an instrument to carry out His duty ably.What is required is absolute sincerity,faith and and unwavering faith in Him.
