Gopooja performed on bovines in view of Krishna JayanthiMonday August 22 2005 11:46 IST GURUVAYUR: Maha Gopooja was performed for the first time at the Sree Krishna temple in Guruvayur on Sunday. The pooja was organised by the Balagokulam.Munnoolam Neelakantan Namboothiri performed the thantric rituals and the prasadams were distributed to the bovines. The other rituals of Gopooja were performed on cows decorated with garlands. Grass and water were also given to the cows.As part of the Vasthradanam ritual, the Gopalakas were also honoured with mundu and pudava. Anjam Krishnan Namboothiri led the gopooja rituals.Later, the Balagokulam held a cultural meeting on Manjulal premises.
