Stone to be laid for thulabharam counter on Monday

Monday September 5 2005 13:01 IST

GURUVAYUR: The construction work of the new agrasala and thulabharam

counters at the east gopuram of the Sree Krishna temple here will

begin on Monday.

Temple tantri Chennas Raman Namboothiripad will perform the rituals

and lay the foundation stone in the afternoon.

Navaratnas, gold, silver, coins and prasadam of Guruvayurappan will

be placed along with the stone during the `silasthapanam.'

The thulabharam counter complex will have an additional building for

providing `annaprasam' for babies and a retiring room for nursing

mothers and children.

The new complex is an offering to the Lord by a Bangalore-based woman

and Rs 1 crore for the initial expenses has been deposited by her.

The total cost of the complex is estimated at Rs 1.44 crore.

The building complex with an area of 3500 sq ft has been designed by

Vasthu acharya Kanipayyoor Krishnan Namboothiripad
