Bhagavane, Guruvayoorappa ,

Narayaneeyam is the authorized scriptural text on Sri Guruvayoorappan . His nature , philosophy as well as the ideal conduct of His bhakta are described in this sacred text . A pure Bhakta of Guruvayoorappan learns Narayaneeyam and abide by it’s regulatory principles.

According to Narayaneeyam, Maha-Vishnu is the Supreme God (Bhagavan) of the entire universe. Guruvayoorappan is Maha-Vishnu Himself. All other Gods, including Lord Siva are His different manifestations .

If a Bhakta worships Sri Guruvayoorappan as ‘Ishta daivam’ and attains Him by his bhakti-yoga, he has achieved the ultimate. For sure, all other Gods are automatically pleased with that blessed Bhakta .This is the fundamental message of Naryayaneeyam.

However, many aspiring bhaktas are not situated properly in their bhakti-yoga . They used to chant manthras of several ‘ Anya devatas’ and even advise other Bhaktas also to do the same. This attitude is contradictory to the regulatory principles given in Narayaneeyam .

This doesn’t mean that, a devotee of Guruvayoorappan should not pray any other deity. Of course there are ‘Parivara Devatas’ in Guruvayoor temple ; a bhakta can pray to Siva, Vinayaka, Ayyappan , Bhagavathi as ‘auxiliary deities’ to provide the due obeisances.

Sri Guruvayoorappan is utmost merciful to His every Bhakta. In the highly unlikely event of a particular Bhakta requiring to perform a specific ritual for an ‘Anya Devata’ , the Bhakata-priya Himslef advises through a medium of His choice. This could come in the form of , a dream , an astrological prediction , an advice by a saint, priest or another devotee or an own conviction in the mind of the Bhakta .

Indiscrete chanting of manthras to invoke short-tempered 'Anya Devatas' , is just like consuming powerful medicines without consultimg a doctor.

Please chant Guruvayoorappan’s divine names and be happy.

A humble servant of Sri Guruvayoorappan .
