Guruvayur Devaswom, which owns 62 trained domestic elephants, in association with various social organisations, has made elaborate arrangements for the day. The entire town has been decorated to receive the elephant procession. Folk arts like Kummattikkali, Pulikkali, Karakayattam, Kavadiyattom, Theyyam, Kathakali, Shinkari Melam, Panchavadyam and Pancharimelam will also accompany the caparisoned elephants' procession from Manjulal Junction to Anakkotta. Devaswom Minister K C Venugopal will flag off the procession at 8 AM. On the arrival of the procession at Anakkotta-Asiad Appu Nagar, special `Anayoottu' will be held. The Devaswom Minister will inaugurate the public meeting to be presided over by Devaswom Chairman K V Nambiar. Devaswom-Tourism Secretary E K Bharath Bhooshan, Devaswom Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, Zamorin of Kozhikode P K Manaveda Raja will attend the meet. Devaswom Managing Committee members R Rajasekharan, Muttar P N Panicker, Thrivikraman Nair, N K Sudheer, Gokulam Gopalan, Mallissery Parameswaran Namboothiripad and Devaswom Administrator K Anil Kumar will also address the meet.
