Guest guest
Hari-Om ======= Vajasravasa's son, Nachiketas goes voluntarily to Lord Yama, lord of Death, but Yama was not ready to accept a visitor ahead of his time. Thus Yama refuses to take Nichiketa's life and asks him to go bacak until Death calls him. Nichiketa insists that he desires only one boon, and that is he get instruction at Yama's hands about the nature of the soul. Nachiketas was not prepared to give up his enquiry into the mystery of Life even for all the wealth and plearsures of this world or of the celestial world. Yama thus cornered, starts instructing him thus: The first thing that a man should learn in the pursuit of truth is that the good is something different from the pleasant. The good is one thing, the pleasant is another. These two lead man to very different ends. He who chooses Good attains happiness. He who prefers the Pleasant ever loses his object. The wise are not deceived by the attractions of the Pleasant. They choose the Good. Fools are snared into the mere pleasant and perish. ===The Upaanishads === ****************** Yama's instructions will continue.......... ------ In the devotional service of Bhagavan Shree Krishna !
