Heavy rush at Sabarimala PATHANAMTHITTA: There was heavy rush of devotees at Lord Ayyappa Temple in Sabarimala on Sunday. The queue of pilgrims extended beyond Marakkoottom by forenoon. According to Travancore Devaswom Board sources, many pilgrims had to wait for five to six hours for the holy darshan. Devaswom Administrative Officer at Sabarimala Mohandas said the Mandala puja would be held between 12.07 p.m. and 12.36 p.m. on December 26. The temple would be closed after athazha puja, later, marking the culmination of the 41-day annual Mandalam festival. The reopening of the temple for the Makaravilakku festival (after its closure on December 26) has

been advanced by two days. TDB president G. Raman Nair said the temple would be opened for the Makaravilaku festival on December 30 afternoon instead of January 1. The temple will be opened for daily puja at 3 a.m. Send instant messages to your online friends http://in.messenger.
