Guest guest
Dear Members, We all are well aware of the terms bhakti, karma, jnana, moksha etc.We all are striving hard to realise the purpose of human life and acheive the goal of self - realisation, of realising God. Yet most of the times in life, we stand a witness to unanticipated situations which leaves a indelible mark on our psyche. We are left with nothing much to do except wonder the cause of such events. Inevitably, our foremost reaction is to vent out our anger and frustration on others , curse our fate and finally question the Lord. KARMA is the answer to all the above written statements. What a man sows,so shall he reap!!!! This is how nature works. Karma is a hope for the hopeless and forlone. It quenches the spiritual thirst by pushing us in the right direction BY THE GRACE AND THE WILL OF THE ALMIGHTY. The tendency and character of a man is shaped based on his past deeds.Thoughts influence our action which in turn is governed by karma. We are what we think and our past deeds maketh us today. There are three kinds of karma: SANCHITA or accumulated works of the past. This decides the tendencies of man , his character, attitude and desire. PRARABDHA or fructifying works . He is reaping by being what he is today. He cannot change it but has to exhaust it by experiencing it.He has to settle his past deed debts. KRIYAMANA / AGAMI or current works. His present action will decide his future. In the vedic literature, there is a beautiful analogy. A bow - man has shot the arrow. He is about to place the second in his bow. The bundle of arrows in the quiver hanging on his shoulder is SANCHITA. The arrow which he has shot is PRARABDHA. He cannot recall it back. The best he could do is merely observe. The arrow which is to leave his bow is AGAMI Sanchita and Agami is what the bow man can decide about, but can only witness Prarabdha!! Likewise whatever may be our experience good or bad , is a net result of our past deeds. We are mere puppets of our own actions. God does not interfere with karma for he is a mere observer. Let us not waste this beautiful gift of human life fretting over inconsquential things and blame others for ruining our life because after all , it was our choice to permit them to do so!! Instead let us prepare for the future by doing selfless service to mankind , help with no expectations, live without greed , empathise with the weak and judiciously use our senses, more specifically our words!! Let us overcome the mind of vagaries - fantasies, falsehood, lust, pretence, lies. What can a man of wealth and stature with a wind of prestige around him, help and do service unto others? GETTING RID OF OUR OWN WILL , TRAINING TO DO GOD'S WILL, IS WHAT SPIRITUAL LIFE IS FINALLY ALL ABOUT!!!! To be continued.....................
