Pranams to all dear members of GURUVAYUR family ! A couple of weeks back, some of our group members had a chance to meet Shri Sunil (...our respected group moderator...) here in Bangalore. We all assembled at Sri Ayyappa temple, HAL, quite a well known temple here. I hope that was one of the best moments when devotees from different spheres of life come together right in front of their beloved lord. The meeting was quite an auspicious one & none of us missed that rare opportunity to share our backgrounds, simultaneously preparing for a light dinner. We spent some 2 hours together & discussed on some of the topics highly vital to our group. Though we could not fix the things, we had some useful take aways. Moreover, Sunil mentioned that in the course of his travel to Guruvayur, Mumbai & Delhi, he will be presenting the same to other members as well & try modulate/refine the ideas further. I am sharing the same here & wish to have all your valuable suggestions to make it really happen in the best possible way. * The first suggestion is to come up with a monthly newsletter kind of stuff from the group which will highlight the vital happenings of the bygone month referring to the key articles by our group members, festive events, spritual thoughts, photo of the month (deity) , member introduction (in photographic way), bhajans, commentaries on selected shlokas from spiritual texts like Bhagavattam/Ramayanam/Gita/Veda etc. (which can be continued as a series in the upcoming issues also). * The cover page design is an another IMP task in this respect. Hence, calling for the best ideas to beautify our magazine. The newsletter will be in a pdf format which will be upoaded in our group at the end of each month & be floated to all members via mail also. The basic aim behind this news letter is to keep those members in the loop who are not able to find sufficient time or opportunities to check the group mails quite regularly. The no. of pages is not that critical to be decided upon ! ..... VISHU 2006 should be an ideal date to release the first issue. * Populating our database with all shareable informations pertaining to all well-known temples of Kerala (.. & outside Kerala also...). This will be an add-on feature which will serve the purpose of devotees who are planning to visit the respective temples. * There should be a dedicated database for " Health keeping " , especially addressing the importance of Ayurveda, Yoga, Pranayams etc. * Inviting suggestions to retune the GURUVAYUR home web page. Hopefully, Sunil will be able to work on it in the near future. We do not stop here ! We know a lot of good things .... a robust plan & dedicated effort is all what is needed to make it look beautiful, useful & impressive. Welcome to all ! Kindly fwd this mail, in case I have missed to address. Please keep this mail floating as it is .... kindly do not drive it to our mail. Hare Krishna Hare Rama -- Krishna Prasad .. Yad yad aacarati sreshtah, tad tad eva itaro janah. As the Gita puts it, consistency of purpose and a spirit of dedication and, if necessary, sacrifice, should characterize the new spirit.
