It is well said than done. But in real life how many people are actually praying

to the God without expecting any kind of reward for their prayers.People pray

for good health, money, job, children, marriage and everso many other things. In the

process they are prepared to offer this and that vazhipadus.A type of bargaining

with God.People when they enjoy all the comforts in life which came to them

because of their Karmic deeds of earlier births and in their ego that what they

hv achieved are due to their skills and power.Shuld we accept such a theory? Can

anybody move everything by his/her own will?Who makes a baby breath, crawl,

walk, speak? Is it the parents? How the baby does the same without the help from

anybody? We may call it is the nature? Then what is nature? So we accept there is a

supreme power who does everything for every human being, animal, plant etc.

Such a thing nobody can dispute. So too the pleasures or pains are inflicted on

a person according to certain well defined cosmic laws and nobody can change the

same.

We are happy when everything goes in our favour and get depressed when we fail

in our missions. Why there is no equanimity of mind? After all if there is no pain

there is no pleasure. So for everything in this world there is equally an

opposite thing that works. So the better part of valour shuld be to keep the mind

in equanimity and pray God for prayers sake.It is simply ridiculous to expect

God to come to our succour in all our troubled times when we are not bothered

abt Him in our time of good. The better thing is to always think that nothing in

this world belongs to us as we hv brought nothing except our karmic deeds of

past lives and leave without taking anything except our karmic deeds good or bad

with us to continue the jouney to reach the final destination that is to reach

the Source from which we hv come.Of course such high philosophy can't be

digested by all.But still it is the fact if we ponder over the same. Our puranas

hv eversomany instances when the pious always suffer and

the wicked always enjoy. They hv been written only with the idea of making the

reader to realise the basic factor of the truth of Creation.

It is a good thing to pray always Lord Krishna or any other Deity of ones's

choice but it is too much to expect that the same will carry them always.Things

will take cae of themselves by dedicated prayers without expecting rewards

according to the karmic deeds.Karma is supreme and even God won't interfere in

one's individual karma. We hv the cases of even divine avatars suffer due to

their karmic deeds. When Sri Rama was sent to exile Lakshmana was furious that he

will destroy everybody to get the kingdom for Rama. But Rama being an avatar told

Lakshmana to keep cool and take the same as the effects of fate.So

worshipping God always is a good thing as the same will calm down the troubled

mind but if results are not forthcoming He shuld not be blamed as all depends on

Karma effects.Of course prayers can to a certain extent give mental solace and

keep the mind calm. There is nothing called accident or coincidence in this world

ruled by the laws of Nature.A really dedicated soul will realise this and pray

accordingly without expecting anything from Him not even absolute bliss as he or

she has got no control over his or her own destiny.

Hare Krisha.

Om Namo Narayana ,

A true devotee of Lord Sri Krishna is the one who is fully aware

that; he/she is a mere instrument of the Lord ; and that it is the

Lord's power that is acting through the devotee. As such, praying the

Lord , applying His instructions (Given in Gita) , Serving Him....

all are routine acitvities . When such a devotee chants the Lord's

names, he/she is connecting to the Lord . It is not for any selfish

gain or for escaping from problems . It is just like an infant

clinging to his mother out of only love towards her.

Lord Sri Krishna on His part is extremely compassionate to such

sincere devotees and always goes out of His way to shower His

abundant grace ,without being asked to do so.

The chanting of Krishna's names burns downs the devotee's sins of

past-karma thereby purifying the heart. Also, it enables to overcome

the tricks of Maya (illusion). A sincre devotee can feel the

invisible hand of Sri Krishna in all activities and connect to Him

any time.

So let us surrender totally unto the lotus feet of Sri Krishna and

love Him without any reservation.

A humble devotee.
