Guest guest
Sunil: thanks for your personal reply with regard to my query and this proves that I cannot survive without you like the moon and Sun. I learned something new. I am following your direction and do the same so that my earlier posting will re-appear the way I wanted to. Thanks for your help. Wishing you all the best and do better for our group. My respected members of this group : Please forgive me in my attempt to post the following once again as the original did not appear the way I wanted. Quote: Vinod: Thanks for the update of our Sunil's trip to BLR and I am sureLord Guruvayoorappan will bless him to achieve what is the best for ourgroup Vimala: I am praying for your mother's speedy recovery. I am sending a personal mail to you separately in a day or two. I saw the nice presentation of Chithambaram by Vinod, Indu, Naushad and Gaurishankar. I am in the dark how Chith-Ambaram, -that is how it is written in Tamil- became Chidambaram or Chidhambaram. May be the influence of English. I was lucky and fortunate to visit the temple wayback in 1946 when I was a 9yr school student with my parents and remember the temple and its surroundings faintly. 60 years later, across the 7 seas, though retired I am still learning. The only difference is that I am not confined to a class-room of a particular school or any University. I learn from this forum also. I liked the presentation by Sunita about Ayurvedha, food and eating habits. Like the food being classified into 4 groups, is it not true that all form of life - humanbeings included- in this planet fall in the same class? Perhaps that is why food for one is poison for another. Even the good food that is taken too much and too fast causes problem. Hence Adhikam Aayal Amruthum Visham We have to exercise control not only in eating but in all fields. Even in raising a kid. It is like flying a kite. When in control the kite fly high in the sky, of course light wind is needed, so also a kid needs control as s/he grows up. For better control, only one kite at a time. Beware of Nuclear power. Valmiki the great Sage created Ramayanam. I do not believe that he was a hunter. I feel it was contorted by someone later that even a hunter can be as good as Valmiki if he utters Rama Rama.. Sage Vyasa had outdone Valmiki. He gets help from Lord Ganapathy in writing Maha Bharatham, makes Lord Krishna a charioteer, gave us the famous Geetha advice in Lord Krishnas words to Arjuna. He even connects Krishna to Rama, the hunter to Bali, the arrow head metal piece to the iron rod delivered by a boy after a curse, that saw the destruction of the entire Yadhavas. HE IS GREAT. The iron rod can be compared to modern rockets and missiles that we are not happy at all. Similarly Nuclear power may be cheap but wise men know that the nuclear waste will be the curse of the future generation. Sun - A God I do Surya Namaskaram but not all the 10 steps as narrated by Krishnanajuan. I do only the first two steps of raising my hands over my head inhaling as I do that, hold breath a second or two, and bend slowly exhaling and touch my own feet.I repeat it 3times daily. When we say Namaskaram, we mean padham thottu namaskarikkuka. While I touch my own feet I think of my own parents who gave me this life of mine, and all great people who contributed their time in my favor. The benefits are two fold. First Surya Namaskaram and the second I am relived of occasional back ache that I get with either by my sitting posture or sleeping habit. More over, I consider Sun as a God -after my own parents- whom I can see and feel. He keeps me company on an average 12 hours per day. Sun, like Father, gives light, heat and energy to mother Earth, who delivers everything that is needed to sustain our life. Equally important to life are the other three basic elements Air, Fire and Water. Fire occupies the top place as we do everything with a light. Agni Sakshi aayi. Sun, to me is the greatest fire of this universe. We all know that controlled fire gives light, heat and energy for our comfort but when it is out of Control, causes destruction. Only one thing need no control at all. Praying. Praying Lord Guruvayoorappan the Great creator of the entire Universe, including Sun, Air, Fire Earth and Water. We can pray anytime. Let us do that. It is appropriate to quote the famous words of Mahathma Ghandhi. We all have a job which may be insignificant, but what is significant is do it, to that I add do it right. Unquote.
