Guest guest
Hare Krishna, Dear Sunil Bhai, Let me Take this Opportunity to Admire your simplicity and also giving the due respect for the Parents. Great. I recd an Article on Father's Day stating " Honour your Parents while they are Alive". it was a touching words. show your love before too late. It's really a remarkable Idea to join all the Graveyard's devotees to one platform to share the experience and Devotion for the Lord. Now the Changing world this is the correct media to connect all over the world and feels as like we are in Guruvayoor. Let me Appreciate for the effort and also thanks for giving us an Opportunity to Join such a wonderful group also to other peoples who put lot of effort to bring into this level. As Syamala said Iam too have a feeling that missed last some of years. Better late than never before. May Kannan gives you Good Vision to make it an wide way. With Love Sree Sunil Menon <menon_sunilguruvayurSent: Tuesday, 1 August, 2006 1:47:29 PM[Guruvayur/Guruvayoor] Re: Guruvayoor group & navneetham news letter Hare Krishna!Dear Syamala,Thank you for your comments and blessings. As I am going through a transformation time in work and life, your prayers and blessings are highly appreciated. Initially I started the web site Guruvayoor.com as an offering and silent prayer to Krishna to save my mother's life. She had memory loss due to Alzheimer's and it was a devastating time for us. However, Krishna had different plans for one his ardent devotees and she left us in 2001. Guruvayoor and Krishna were important part of my Mother's and Father's life. Hence doing anything related to Guruvayoor is a way for me to cherish their memories and respect their teachings (incidently, both my parent's were my Teachers too). Maintaining a devotional group needs quite a bit of effort considering that each message needs to be read before approval to the whole group. Primarily this security measure is to prevent people posting bad things, making personal attacks and avoiding virus attachments. We also discourage subjects not related to Bhakti. I could not have done this without the timely help from VEENA NAIR, who volunteered to help in 2003 and has done an excellent job of supporting the effort. Thank you Veena for your great service to this group. One of the main dilemmas being the moderator is participating in the discussions. When I post my personal opinion, many people take it as the Moderator's opinion and the only allowed view point in the group. Some people even leave the group to protest! I wanted to avoid such happenings and that is why you don't see many posts from me. Another question I get often is why I don't put my name everywhere in the group or on the web site. The answer is simple, it is for Krisha and his name is there everywhere. My name is not really important. It always reminds me of an experience from my village. Our Bhagavathy Temple is on a hill and they collected donations from people to build stone steps leading to the temple. In return, they wrote the donor's names in the middle of ever step. So, when we climb these steps now, we have to step on the names of the donor's... And that means stepping on people's names and many of them are my family members and respected uncles! Imagine you putting your feet on your dear uncles names one by one - it is no fun. Personally, I don't think we should write our names in big letters everywhere when it is a matter related God. After all we are doing HIS seva. A good news - we have crossed 400 member mark last week and it gives me a lot of pleasure to be associated with all of you.Om Namo Narayanaya:May God bless you all. But today , I am free (my boss is not there) and while going through the messages I came across a message dated 9th July of Shri Ganapathy Ramanji in reply to the message of Shri Balagopalji. This message came as an answer to my querry and I came to know the name of the person who took initiative to develop such a group. I understand that this group was started way back end May 2001 with just one single person ( Shri Sunil Menonji himself I suppose). I can very well imagine the efforts he must have put to make this group a strenghty one with 385 members as of now which includes persons having great knowledge and always ready to guide us and clear our doubts. > > I am sorry I could be a part of this Guruvayoor group only this May 2006 which means I lost 5 valuable years and lost many information. Guest guest
Jai SreeKrishna Dear Sunilji, Thanks a lot for your message . I pray to Almighty God that your parent's soul rest in peace. Ofcourse it will be as you have started this group ( a very very noble act) immediately after the demise of your beloved mother. I am sure it was your love and respect for parents coupled with the Blessings of KANNAN that an idea of developing such a group came to your mind. Starting with just one person -yourself and now a strengthy group of 400!!!. There are no words in my vocabulary to appreciate and praise you and Veenaji for the joint effort being put in to make this group a great success. . What I can do is with all humility and sincerety pray to my mischevious KANNAN to be always with you any time ,anywhere , everywhere and shower HIS Blessings on both of you and for that matter all our group members Now please forgive me if I am little bit diverting from the subject. I also lost my parents last year in a span of just six months. My mother passed away on Jan. 5th 2005 and father 23rd June 2005. Since I had been in Mumbai since several years, my meeting with them was only once in a year when we go on vaccation. However, I ensured that maximum days are spent with them and had tried my best to serve them . Infact, I very much wanted to bring them here for some days atleast, but they were not willling. Then I thought once I settle down in Kerala (God willing in a couple of years), I can make them stay with me and look after them. But alas -" Man proposes, God disposes" . KANNAN had other plans. You must be aware the last Bhagavatha Satram was held at Haripad (my place of birth) The 7th day was on Jan. 2nd 2005 . My mother attended the same all the 7 days and on 5th morning she passed away. She was an ardent devotee of Krishna and I learned many keertans including Harinama Keertanam from her as she used to recite Krishna keertans and Harinama Keertanam while doing her household work. Though I lost my mother, I was thankful to HIM that she passed away hearing Saptaham for 7 days and did not toruble anyone. My father I must say could not bear the shock as he always wanted her to be beside him . He will call "Ediye" every other second. After her death, it seemed as if he lost interest in life. Thus he also passed away on 23rd June. So serve our parents as much as we can when they are alive and there is no use regretting afterwards. This is one point where we all become really helpless and can only be silent spectactors . Rightly said ' we are all puppets in his hands unni kalikkumbol adunna pavakal namellarum" Now coming to concluding part of your messge, when selfless services are done . the same is done as seva to God and such people do not expect any name or fame. However, others give them respect . Yourself and Veenaji are amongst them. Working behind the scene. It has now become a fashion in almost all temples in Kerala to have the name of the person mentioned on whatever they have donated even a stone to which I am also against. But then we have no option. All are not Sunilji or Veenaji !! I sincerely in the name of KANNAN wish our Guruvayoor group and Navneetham all the very best. Sincerely Syamala Sunil Menon <menon_sunil wrote: Hare Krishna!Dear Syamala,Thank you for your comments and blessings.
