Guest guest
Dear Krishna Prasad, Shaymalaji is correct. And Krishna's birthday is another aspect of the difference between Kerala vs. rest of India. 'Ashtami Rohini' is what we celebrate as Krishna's birthday in Kerala and it falls on September 14th 2006. (Very important day in Guruvayoor.) However, rest of India (except Tamilnadu) follows a different Hindu Calendar and it falls on August 16th this year. Generally it is called 'Sri Krishna Jayanti' ,'Janmashtami' or 'Gokulashtami'. We don't have a Kerala temple here and all our local temples are celebrating Gokulashtami on August 16th that we plan to attend. Hare Rama, Hare Krishna.
