" I was really surprised to learn that because the source of the picture was Guruvayur Deavswom web site- http://www.guruvayu rdevaswom. org/img/wallpape r/16.jpg Seems like someone flipped the picture by mistake before posting to the Devaswom web site. And we carried that mistake in Navaneetham. My sincere apologies. Here is your email answers - Gopalakrishnaji: In fact, there are three glaring mistakes if one has to point out==1. On page-2- Krishna is shown as the 9th Avatara in the array of Avataras. Actually it is the 8th. 2.On page 4, Vamana is shown as keeping his left foot on the head of Mahabali (in the picture, only the kireedam is shown, not the head, that is a different story). But it is actually the right foot. 3. On the last page, the picture of guruvayoorappan looks turned the other way, left should be right and right should be left. Further, what the present left hand carries, (it should be the chakram in the wrong picture) it doesnt look like a chakram. PS Vinod:My observation says it's on Page 4/39 - Only 9 incarnations instead of 10. Arun P PillaiI found it .... how come we didnt notice this .... Jayashreei think the mistake that you are referring to is in the dashavataram picture put on the contents page. picture of kalki avatar is missing. Keethi Kumar MenonI found the mistake with the photograph printed on 2nd page. Vamana moorthi is shown as 35 - 40 years old man. Its really have to be shown as a "Vamana boy". Rajan Nair Kinattinkara It seems there is something wrong with the picture on Page No. 35, i.e. Lord Vishnu bless Vasudevar and Devaki. InduIn the picture of Dashavatharam ... Kalki is not shown... Satya Sreenivasa Rao RamisettyI have gone through the pictures and feel that there is issue with this painting on page 15. The right hand fingers of Lord Krishna doesn't show the correct play method. It is the finger tips which should be closing the flute holes rather than the end of the finger. That is my first observation. Guest guest
Dear Vinod, Happy Birthday and many many happy returns of the day!! Thanks for letting us know and all our prayers are there for you on this special day. Vinod is a special member of our group. One of the few who has been consistently active since he joined the group in 2004. He may also have the highest number of postings to our group. Regarding Navaneetham - yes, it was a good learning process and an opportunity to do a better job in future issues. Being a novice in such matters, I pray for Guruvayoorappan's blessing and guidance to do a better job in future issues. Vinod, good suggestion regarding more dedicated members to join Navaneetham editorial. I welcome members to our editorial board who can help us converting articles to Malayalam fonts, proof reading, editing articles and page/cover design. Please email me if you can spare at least 5/6 hours in a month for the same. We also need good articles from all of you in every month. Send to us as soon as you can, that way, we will have more time to design and edit it. More time = less mistakes as we get time to proof read a few times. Please send news items about other temples, your questions regarding spirituality and any other news you like to share with our group. Again, happy birthday Vinod and May God Bless you. Orginal email from Sabarish that made me think about this contest : " Guruvayoorappan' s picture on the last page of Navaneetham (July and August issues) has a mistake. The order of charkam, shankh, gadha, padmam in the picture is wrong. Actually it is the 8th .. I thing the picture was inverted ... page 39, Bhagawan's photo ...left came as right ... Its really have to be shown as a " Vamana boy " . Thanks to Sabarish for initiating this and thanks to all of you for your observations and suggestions. May God Bless You. Guest guest
Dear Vinodji and all others! Radhe Krishna! Let me first wish you many many happy returns of the day, with ardent prayers to Lord Guruvayoorappan to shower His divine grace on you and the family of Guruvayoorappan Bhaktas, and bestow on all, an abundance of Ayur-arogya-soukhyam. Sincere thanks for your congratulations. I continue to feel that Sri. Sabarish is the real winner, and not me, as he was the one who pointed out the mistake. We all, including myself (I am ashamed to say), took things for granted. I very highly appreciate the devotion and keen observation of Sri Sabarish in observing the mistake, which has escaped everybody else's attention, and his courage to point it out. On behalf of the Bhaktaranjini Trust, in all humility, I like to offer the prize of one complimentary copy of the Narayaneeyam Bhaktaranjini commentary to Shri. Sabarish. But, as he has paid for and taken a copy from me already yesterday, either I can reimburse the cost to him, or I can request him to collect from me, another copy for his friend and a very ardent devotee of Guruvayoorappan, Shri. Dinuraj, who showed immense fondness for the book when he saw it, and has already started reading it. . Sabarishji, My hearty congratulations to you. Kindly request Shri. Dinuraj to act as per your desire, as given in the para above.. My hearty congrats to Dinurajji for the revival of his trip to the US, as desired by the Lord.. Warmest regards K.V. Gopalakrishna. Guest guest
Dear Shri Gopalakrishna Sir and all, My sincere thanks your congratulations and appreciations. It was Guruvayoorappan's wish that the mistake in the picture be corrected, and he pointed it out to me. To be born in the Great Land " Bharatam " , which was made divine by the presence of Lord Mahavishnu himself, which is the land of great yogis like Shri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, Shri Vivekanda Swamigal and many more, where you find temples in every village and city, which is protected by nature (ocean on 3 sides, and Himalaya Parvatam on the fourth), which successfully preserved the age old traditions even after mutiple attacks (on its land and cutlure) and one which has the temple of Guruvayoor - Arent we all lucky, Arent we all winners?
