Dear Deva ettan and Unni,

Radhe Krishna!

When we hear such stories, it is a fact, as Unni has rightlly said,

one's level of Bhakti increases to a peak, and we start shedding tears

of joy. Every word of Bhattatiri, especially in the last 10

dasakams, is worth its weight in gold. It is but divine grace that

people, devotees of the Lord have joined together in these forums and

are able to exchange their thoughts. In fact, we are doing satsangam

through e-mails. A great thing!

Sometimes, I start wondering whether I will be able to get such

experiences which make our hair stand on ends and eyes pour out tears

of joy in the form of "Seetha-bashpa-visareih,

ananda-moorcchodbhaveih". We should all join Bhattatiri when he

prays"Udyad-hasah kadachid kuhachidapi rudan quapi garjan pragayan,

UNMADEEVA PRANRITYAN, loka-bahyah chareyam". We will be really

blessed if we are able to reach that state! What else to pray for ?

Ayi! Kuru Karunam!

Dear KVG Sir,

“Happiness” is the only

word in my limited vocabulary to explain the feeling while I am going

through your letters. The words being penned by you are

nothing but blessings appearing in the form of letters for the laymen

like me as those make a feeling of our beloved Guruvayoorappan around

us.

Sir, there is another

story associated with Kuroor Amma as well. This old Namboodiri lady was a great

devotee of Guruvayoorappa and used to prepare palatable feast (sadya)

on the birthday of Lord every year. She was either an

unmarried (there is no reference made about her husband in the legends)

or she has not given birth to a child.

Therefore, she adapted Lord as her own Unni (child boy). Once,

while she was preparing dishes for Bhagavan’s

birthday, a little boy of around 3-4 years appeared and started

grabbing food from the bowls and taste it followed by a comment, “it is

so delicious”. Kurooramma, a personification of motherly

love, bit annoyed by the pranks of the little boy, caught and shut him into an old black

smeared mud pot.

Villwamangalam Swamiar

was waiting continuously for Bhagavan during his daily pooja and the schedule of the

pooja slipped. At

last Kannan appeared before Villwamangalam with the whole body smeared

with black. Swamiar asked surprisingly, what happened to

you Lord, why you become late to appear, and how did your all body smear

with black?” Bhagavan replied, Kurooramma shut me in to a black muddy

pot. Since then, Krishnan has being called ‘Karvarnan’

(black coloured one).

If Buffalo was the form taken by

Lord in front of innocent Warrior, Unni (son) was form for

Kurooramma. Yasodamma tied Lord to a grinder because of

his mischief, was not due to lack of love. Yasodamma and

Kurooramma, both had ocean of love in their hearts towards

Lord. You call him by any name. Your innocent, devout

call will definitely be answered. Whatever form in which

you wish to see him, you can see him in that form.

Let the ‘Muppathimukkodi Devadas (330 Million

Deities)’ who stand around the ‘Anandasayi’ to say repeatedly,

“Thadhastu” “Thadhastu”

Anjathua Te Mahathwam Yadiha Nigathitham

Viswanatha, Kshamedha:

Shtotram Caithath

Sahasrotharamathikatharam

Thwat prasadaya bhooyat

Dwedha Narayaneeyam

Shruthishu Ca Janusham

Sthuthyatham Varnanenah

Sphweetham

Leelavatharaidamiha kurutham

Ayurarogya Soughyam!

May it be so!

Love, regards, respect

Exemplary story for all. One

need not worry what form Bhagavan takes. He takes the form the Bhakta

imagines in his mind. That does not apply to mischievous conceptions

meant by atheists to insult the Lord and His Bhaktas, but only to those

who serve Him with devotion and humility. Warrier was an innocent, but

a true Bhakta who believed the words of his guru, although it was meant

sarcastically. But the Lord is straightforward in every respect, and

even if someone says something with sarcasm in his mind, it will come

true. .

It is said that 330 million Deities are watching our actions and

blessing us by saying "Thadha-astu, thadha-astu" meaning, "May it be

so, May it be so". So, whatever we think, say or act are all blessed

by them, and will come true. Whatever good we do, yields results

quickly in the Kali-yuga, and bad actions are not that quick in

yielding results in Kali-yuga. So let us only think, talk and act to

do good only to others.

Hare Krishna ! Dandavat

Pranam to Bhagavan Sri Krishna and all Vaishnavas ,

A

Buffalo in Guruvayoor Temple ( A True Event ) .

Swami Vilwamangalam (

Bilwamangalam Takura) was a renowned Vaishnava Spiritual Master . He

had an illiterate personal servant called Varrior .

One day when the Swami

was worshipping Bhagavan Guruvayoorappan (Sri Krishna), Warrior

curiously asked his master Vilwamangalam :

“ Oh my Lord !

In which form you worship Guruvayoorappan ? ”

..

The great Vilwamangalam

did not like this “stupid” question even a bit . Having been

annoyed very much , he replied sarcastically :

“ In the form of a Buffalo ! ” .

Varrior being a very

innocent man , believed that his master’s words are true

.. He was convinced that , Bhagavan Krishna’s real form is that of

a “Buffalo” . Thereafter,

Varrior started worshipping Sri Krishna as a Buffalo .

After a few months , one

day Guruavaoor temple’s “ Siveli ” procession was in

progress . As usual, Vilwangalam Swami was in attendance

accompanied by Varrior .

The temple’s Brahmana

Pujari was carrying the Deity to outside . However, he could

not manage to come out of the main door . He tried again and

again but all efforts failed . Many people were

watching this in utter bewilderment . When many

cycles of repeated efforts failed , everyone started

worrying . Finally , they sought the help of the great Swami

Vilawamangalam who was fortunately available on the spot .

The renowned Spiritual

Master thought a lot but failed to get any clue . When

even Vilwamangalam stood helpless , the confusion of

people reached frantic levels .

Varrior was watching all

this drama hoping that his master will solve the problem

easily . But, when Vilwamagalam also failed ,

Varrior decided to intervene . He

suggested aloud :

“ Oh Pujari ! Why don’t you

tilt Bhagavan’s head

to left of right ? ”

Listening to this

suggestion , the Pujari tilted the Deity a little and by

doing so easily passed the door . Everyone was

pleased , except Vilwamangalam .

Without understanding all

this , the Swami started scolding Varrior

for the “unwanted intervention ” .

Varrior replied politely :

“ My Lord ! Who

doesn’t know that the Buffalo can pass the door only

after tilting his head a little ?!!! ” .

The great Saint

Vilwamangalam was astonished to hear this . He meditated deeply

on Bhagavan Sri Krishna and then looked at the Deity ???????????????????

……….And had the glorious vision of a divine “Buffalo” holding

Sankha,Chakra, Gada and Padmam in HIS four hands !!!!!

( Moral of this event :

Bhagavan Sri Krishna is beyond human logic or imagination ; and

therefore don’t ever meddle with Bhaktapriya’s faithful ……..)

Om Namo

Bhagavate Vasudevaya!!!
