Guest guest
Namaskaram ! My name is Mrs.Surya. I am living in Chicago for the past 12 yrs. A few months ago,I was looking for the spiritual sites, when I came accross the site of " Sri Gruvayoor " site. I read the wonderful personal experiences ofsuch wonderful bhaktas. I am from Andhra, my father was a national prfessor and had many friends in every state. One such good friend mentioned about Sri Guruvayoorappan. During his last days my father had a chance to go to Guruvayooran make darsan of Lord Krishna. When I saw this web site and this group, I immediately I joined this group, but I could not dare to join any discussion with such great bhaktas and such learned scholars. I am planning to come to India this month, I am very eager to visit Guruvayoor. I have seen that the best way is to come to Cochin from Mumbai and travel to Guruvayoor. Is there any other way I can reach Guruvayoor? Please help me , Which is the best time to make darshan of Lord ? I do not want to go back with out making darsan of Sri Guruvayoorappan. Please help me, Thank you so much, Pranams to you all Surya
Guest guest
Dear Smt.Surya, Welcome to the group and thanks for sharing your comments. If you are flying from Mumbai, you can fly to Kochi (Cochin) or Kozhikode (Calicut) and take a taxi to the temple town Guruvayur. If you are going via train, you can alight at Thrissur (Trichur) and catch a cab or wait for a train to Guruvayoor from there. Temple opens at 3AM and I would say that is the best time to take Darshan if you can make it that early. However, queue to enter the temple starts earlier than 3 AM. You may also use my 'Guruvayur Travel Guide' to get more information like timings and offerings etc. Check it out at www.guruvayoor.com If you have more questions after reading the guide, feel free to ask and we all will try to help.
