Guest guest
uttishtatha Jagratha prapyavaran nibodatha!!! This is in response to the mails of rajaram and Chandra menon. I read and reread the same a few times just to make sure that I understand in the right spirit. In the first place, it’s not a fight at all. It is just expressing our opinions and suggestions and as repeatedly I have been stating, finally it is left to the intellectual experts on the subject. I sincerely wish these suggestions and opinions should reach the authority, ‘cos as u know, the bricks by itself do not become a wall. Every human being is an individual brick which when cemented and concreted together becomes a society, a nation, a country, a world etc… I am not very well aware of Christianity or Islamic religions – to be frank not even Hinduism in toto. But I have gone to a few churches and mosques and I did not see any restrictions. I have always enjoyed going to the Hajji Ali near Mahalakshmi temple in Bombay. “Why don’t u correct other systems” No, my dear RR, we don’t have to. If our consideration is that the Govt is supporting them, like the govt supporting the hajj pilgrims and not shabarimala pilgrims, it is not the fault of the Islamic religion!!! And whom do we correct, the impossible Govt?? I totally agree, we should not allow politicians to interfere with the temple affairs. Tanthri is the supreme – no doubt. But my point is who ever is the authority, should do the right thing. We should not compete or compare with other religions. We are saying, ‘cos the other religions do not allow others to go to their worship places, we hindus also should not allow…. I personally do not think that is right thinking. Which Hindu is craving to go to Mecca or Medina?? It is the other religion people who are feeling that there is something more powerful and something more divine in Hindu temple, or Hinduism, they want to have darshan… In fact, we should be proud of that. Until now, I have not read any valid reason, why we should not allow the non hindus – One group says, ‘cos it has been the age old system so let us continue, but we did bring change in that system by allowing all the hindus to enter the temple. Once upon a time we believed that the earth is flat – the eclipse is caused ‘cos snake swallows the moon… Once upon a time people took 41 days of strict penance before going to shabarimala- or else he will not come back!! yes, we did change… Another group says, ‘cos the other religions do not allow the hindus to enter the church or do confession for our sins – or sprinkle holy water and change the religion…. Or attend the four times prayer outside the mosque on the roadside…. My question here is, do the Hindus want that?? Well if Hindus want it, it could be achieved!!! Another group said about alcohol and beef etc… do Hindus not drink alcohol or eat non veg?? All this discussions and arguments are going to be forgotten in a few days and we are going to accept what the tanthri is going to finalise. But again, tanthri is also a human being and he should consider the changing times and changing needs of the time. Apart from these issues of non Hindus… there are some vital issues which should be considered for the benefit of the devotees in general. People travel thousands of miles and wait in the queue for hours for the darshan of the lord and sometimes many of them simply walk off without even a proper glimpse of the Divine form because of the faulty system and the callous behavior of the volunteers. Scientific technology has progressed to its peak and some of the technicalities could be applied to make it more convenient and satisfying darshan to all. Volunteer’s needs to be given a better professional training suited for a spiritual and divine atmosphere dealing with humble devotees and not the foxy politicians.
