Friends,

I was called on , to deliver my views , from the point of view of Jyotish, on behalf of the Astrological fraternity, in a debate that was attended by Hon'able cultural Minister MA Baby , Sri GovindaPillai, the leftist intellectual, Dr Sambashivan, the famous neuro-surgeon , Dr Cherian of the History congress , Rahul Ishwar, grandson of Sabarimala Tantri and the laymen, by a leading TV Channel , couple of weeks back.

My views were as follows. In kerala , ancient Temples were not constructed in vantage areas as of today , and was concretized by seers, with the prime aim of taking step by step, an ordinary mortal , who finds hard pressed to comprehend the tenets of Nirguna Upasana (Worship of formless Bramam) , en route ,Saguna Upasana (Deity with qualities of human being ) to the final emanicipation

Anyone familiar wih the construction of ancient Temples of kerala knows that the Kshetra or Temple is built akin to Gatra (Body) of human beings.

The Tantri is the ultimate authority in Temple rituals and accorded the status of the " Father "of the Deity of that Temple. . When Tantri gets doubtful of any ritualistic proceedings , he need to summon a Deva Prasna in the Temple and seek the wise councel of learned Astrologers.. The reader may profitably note, the importance attached to Jyotish, considered as the eyes of Holy Vedas.

Due to several reasons pollution could take place inside the sanctum sanctorum of the temple. Many of the polluting factors and their remedies are cited in books like "Tantra Samuchayam"

As a dedicated researcher in Vedantha Jyothish, this scribe has come across several manuscripts and palmyra writings (parachments) but nowhere had seen the injunction that human being are to be treated as polluting agents.

Unfortunately , a statement that entry of "achara heenaar's " (those who violate the traditions ) need to be considered as pollution , is deliberatey twisted by vested interest , so as to prohibit the entry of Non-Hindus

Vedas declares cosmic unity .Vedantha goes one step ahead and says "Entire universe is but the manyness of one"(Sarvakhalitham Bramam-Vedantha Maha Vakya)

Temple Darshan is the first step towards attaining self-realisation. In Jyotish , Sun is considered as the Emperor of Time or Time personified . Does Sun, the visible Bramam or GOD, discriminates between Hindu's and Non-Hindu's ? Does the wind discriminates ? The answer is an emphatic "NO"

All discriminations arise in "Human Mind" only. In essence, Jyotish favours the entry of all human beings , not only to believers but also to non-believers. , provided the latter wilfuly submits to the tradition of that particular Temple.

If one is unable to see the spark of Divinity, The Narayana , in fellow , human beings , how can he be called a devotee ? Interstingly, Sanathana Dharma ascribes divinity to the entire manifestation including flaura (Tulasi , Ashoka etc etc ) and fauna and the prayer of seers were "Loka Samastha Sukino Bhavanthu " Let the entire world rejoice . The prayer was not for a particular section of the society

Om Namo Narayanaya
