Guest guest Posted August 3, 2007 Report Share Posted August 3, 2007 Friends, The Guruvayoor Devaswom authorities have decided to conduct an Ashtamangala Deva Prasna on 31 Oct,2007 .They have already extended invitation to eight Astrologers. The controversy associated with another Deva Prasna (Sabarimala ) is yet to subside. Many of the members may not be knowing the procedures involved whilst selecting Astrologers in a Deva Prasna.To put it nutshell, the Deva Hitha (Wish of the presiding deity) should be sought , at the outset, regarding whom all are to be invited to conduct Prasna, prior to any finalisation of Astrologers . In small temples, ofcourse , such a modality is not strictly followed for varying reasons and temple commitee , in consultation with the Tantri , invites Astrologers , overlooking Deva Hitha. However, in Maha Kshetra's , that comes under public domain ,where the public throng to have a Darshan of the Deity, , definitely Deva Hitha should be sought as a prelude to Deva Prasna .Guruvayoor Devaswom has failed to adhere with this fundamental stipulation ,warranting any inference drawn by the invited Astrologers, null and void. Similarly we don't don't know on what grounds , these eight Astrologers, are arbitarily selected or what are their contribution to field of Astrology ? To see the bottom line of the Deva Prasna farce, one should carefully observe the reported statement of chairman of Guruvayoor Devaswom on churidhar issue that any revealation on Deva Prasna against the decision to allow wearing of churidhar won't lead to reconsidering the same issue. If this the case, why on earth , a Deva Prasnam is conducted at the expense of devotees ? If a Deva Prasnam is conducted, obviously , the authorities of the Temple are bound to the revelations . Or can his statement be construed as an indication of what is to come as revelations , in the Ashtamangala Deva Prasna, conducted by the most favoured Astrologers of Guruvayoor Devaswom authorities (Not by Guruvayoorappan)?
