Hare Krishna ! Ashtamirohini wishes to you all !!!

Sree Rama's coronation (`pattabhisheka') was a great festival for Ayodhya . Water from (4) oceans were used in the `abhisheka' . Rama and wife Sita invited all those who helped during Their stay in the forest and in the war with Ravana . Therefore, all their well wishers including `Vanaras ` ( human in the form of monkeys) joyfully took part in the coronation ceremony . From then on , the festive atmosphere continued uninterrupted in that country .

Ayodhya was glowing with happiness, enthusiasm , opulence and fame . That was "Rama-Rajya" ( Lord Rama's Kingdom ) . A country's well being is rooted on it's king's adherence to `Dharma' (righteousness) . If he fails in that , it's ill-effects will be suffered by the citizens . Sree Rama never deviated from `Dharma' . It was always a golden era for Ayodhya . All the citizens were fully satisfied . Any unpleasant event like , epidemics, untimely death, natural calamity due to excess rain or drought , damage to crops caused by insects and birds, etc never occurred . Every one in Ayodhya gratefully sang the glories of their beloved king Sree Rama . So , the entire world contained Rama's grace .

During Bharata's rule too , ( when as committed by His father, Rama resided in the forest for 14 years , Bharata ruled the country as Rama's humble servant) , it was a great period for Ayodhya . Upon completing the (14) years when Rama returned to Ayodhya , Bharata happily returned the kingdom to Him . By following the `Raja-dharma', Bharata managed to increase the kingdom's wealth (10) times . This proves that , adherence to `Raja-Dharma' results in opulence .

Unfortunately , the "secular" ( irreligious ) leaders of modern "India" (Bhaaratha) , failed to follow the "Raja Dharma " . In fact, the very fundamentals of the Vedas and Dharma were unknown to these atheistic rulers . They imported certain Budhist concepts like " total non-violence" and made it applicable to every one including those responsible for protecting the country . But, in their personal lives, these atheist rulers adopted violent measures to promote selfish interests .

One must implement `Dharma' after knowing it . In fact, one should thoroughly understand about anything before handling it . By this standard , how many rulers of the present are eligible to rule ?!! .

Both King Rama and His nominee Bharata ruled in an era when the administration was a strict penance . They had lot of responsibilities to fulfill and no time for fun .

How to follow `Dharma '

To follow Dharma correctly , one should learn the Vedas, Smriits and Puranas . The true priority to know and interpret Dharma is the following :

1) Vedas. ( Bhagavan revealed it to the Sages , in the beginning of life ) .

2) Smritis. ( Explanations and short notes about Vedas, those Sages taught to their chosen disciples . )

3) Morality ( by following the path of Purana's heroes like Sree Rama ) .

4) Conscience ( in-dwelling `Paramatma' or Supersoul form of Sree Krishna) .

It is not easy to learn the Vedas and Smritis . If one explains them without knowing the meaning , the result will be the opposite . `Dharma' is not common to all . According to individuals , circumstances and time , ` Dharma ' will change . Killing an enemy is `Adharma' to a common man . But such a killing is `Dharma' to a soldier in the war.

Those who are ignorant of the Vedas and Smritis can learn about `Dharma' by practicing `morality' ( learning from righteous people and following their personal example) . `Dharmic' men like Sree Rama and Sree Krishna never deviated from the path of `Dharma' .

Conscience

When one can't get guidance for a specific problem from the Vedas, Smritis or Morality , his mind ( if it is committed to Bhakti-yoga ) , will tell him what is right and wrong . This option is not applicable for ordinary people . Only those who have pure minds attained by practice of dharma for long , could avail this facility .

In the case of a saintly person , his mind will not allow him do any `Adharmic ' (unrighteous) act .

Bhagavan Sree Krishna is residing in the hearts of every one as `Paramatma' (Supersoul) . He is just a witness and not a doer and therefore is called `Manasakshi ` ( witness in the mind ) . In normal case , he just witnesses the activities of the person without involving .

However, in the case of a saintly person ( like a true Krishna-bhakta who has taken refuge in Sree Krishna and looks to Bhagavan for Guidance) , Paramatma is ever willing to help .

Bhagavan Sree Krishna confirms to Uddhava in Bhagavatam 11.7.23 :

" Although I, the Supreme Lord, can never be captured by ordinary sense perception, those situated in human life may use their intelligence and other faculties of perception to directly search for Me through both apparent and indirectly ascertained symptoms ".

Importance of Ramayana

The importance of reading Ramayana is rooted on the fact that , if a common man learns from the personal example of Sree Rama and copies His "Dharmic-deeds" in own life, Dharma will exist in this world .

Fortune and Misfortune of Hindus

`Sanatana Dharma' (Hinduism) is rich with many sacred books describing `Dharma' and it's adherence , rituals, and code of conduct .

A Sage once said " The Hindus are both fortunate and unfortunate . Fortunate that, they have such useful sacred books . And unfortunate that , majority of them never even bother to read and understand these books " .

When negativities like , Epidemics, Natural calamities , Corruption, Violence and Immorality have become daily event , our mind goes back to the days of `Rama-rajya ` . Also, we remember the saying of that Saint .

Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya !!!

Krishnadaya
