Guest guest
Om namO nArAyaNAya! What is purANa? Normally we use the word purANa to indicate something that is very old. Our concept about purANa is that it is very old and of no much use!! The Sanskrit word purANa is the combination of two words - pura and nava. pura means town, and nava means new. So the actual meaning of purANa is "that which is new in Town".!!! What is the significance of purANa? Knowledge was available in its real form from the time of nArAyaNa. The knowledge was transferred through the guru-parampara of padma-bhava, vasishta, sakthi, parasara to Vyasa. when Vyasa's time came, common people were not able to understand the actual meaning of the knowledge. So Vyasa started to make stories to convey the knowledge in an easy manner. He named these stories "purANa". Normally what we do? We just stuck on the stories. We are seldom bothered about the knowledge hidden in the story. Here is a beautiful concept.... Who is RADHA? The epitome of Love and Devotion to Lord Krsna. Krsna denotes the supreme soul, the God himself. He is the source of everything. The Sanskrit word "DHARA" denotes the flow.... that starts from a source and flows away.... The word RADHA is created by reversing the word "DHARA" in Sanskrit. RADHA is opposite to DHARA. DHARA flows away from the source. RADHA flows towards the source... So who is Radha? Where is Radha? Radha is within every devotee who always flows to the source.... Love and Regards Suresh Nair
