Guest guest
Once upon a time Lord Siva went to Himalaya to seek hand of his daughter Parvati. In ancient Indian culture it was a tradition to ask complete details about a boy before marriage. Owing to this tradition Himalaya asked: Himalaya : Who is your father? Shiva : Bramha? Himalaya : Who is Bramha's father? Shiva: Vishnu Himalaya : Who is Vishnu's father? Shiva smiled and said " Shiva " . Is this the true nature of god? Guest guest
Dear Sri. Balagopal Ramakrishnan, Prof. Manmohan Ghosh, M,A,, Phd., Kavyathirtha has given in NATYA SHASTHRA Chapter l –ORIGIN OF DHARMA ( Notes) as thus :- " Pithamaha ( the grand father ) is a Puranik epithet of the Vedic God Brahma. For the PITRUS ( Fathers) such as Angiras, Bhrgu, Daksa and Marichi and others, whose descendants peopled this earth, were his progeny. In later literature and religion of India, Brahma gradually recedes in the background and practically vanishes. His place is taken by Siva and Vishnu." Mahesvara ( The Great God ) is another name of Siva, who is originally a pre-Vedic deity……." There are many stories as you have told. Instead of relying on such stories I feel it is better to rely on the words of the great people such as Prof. Ghosh. Best wises and warm regards.
