Jai Sreekrishna Dear Shri Gopalakrishnanji Thank you for this update. Can we not make a presentation on these matters to the Devaswom board just as we did for the Udayasthamana pooja?. I do not how far I am right in saying this. But one thing we can definitely do - constantly PRAY, infact PLEAD to HIM to safeguard the interest of HIS humble devotees which I am sure HE will hear and solve all issues .So let all the members of this Guruvayoorappan group pray to HIM as members of a great family as I believe kootta prarathana is more powerful and yield results OM NAMO BHAGAVATE VASUDEVAYA OM NAMO BHAGAVATE VASUDEVAYA OM NAMO BHAGAVATE VASUDEVAYA OM NAMO BHAGAVATE VASUDEVAYA OM NAMO BHAGAVATE

Whether people agree with the findings or not is a different thing. I had been to Guruvayoor recently and stayed there for a week attending a Sapthaham by Krishnapremi. I had also made certain comments about the discussions and controversial matters coming to the level of personal admonitions, etc.,

which were appreciated by some of our group. My personal findings are1. The security in the temple while entering the gate has been stepped up. But I feel it should be further increased, in the light of present day happenings in places of worship, especially those of the hindus. In fact, security all over the township of Guruvayoor has to be stepped up, which is a function of the Devaswom Board and the Police. The security at private discourses like Rugmini Kalyana Mandapam, the Brahmana samooham, etc.should be stepped up. As regards people of other religions being admitted into the temple, it again calls for security risks, rather than Acharas and traditional beliefs.2. Personal dress---a subject of great controveries---the fact remains that scientific findings have proved that men receive positive energy of the divinity, in other words, the deiva-chaithanyam through the upper part of

their bodies, and hence men, if they are really serious about the divine grace, should leave their chests uncovered. It is also known that ladies receive the same divine positive energy through the ornaments they wear, might be made of gold, their mangalya-soothrams or even fashion jewellery.3. There is unending discussion about churidars. I am of the opinion that ladies should wear only sarees, that too, made of cotton, as it is less susceptible to catch fire in case of an emergency. Compare a lady wearing a nylon churidar and another wearing a cotton saree. In case there is a fire accident, the lady with nylon churidar will be beyond redemption and cannot be saved, whereas the lady with a cotton saree stands some chance of saving herself from burns.4. Nirmalya darsanam. People get up as early as 2 A.M. and stand at the gates to open and have a glimpse of the Lord with the previous

night's decorations. But by the time the gate is opened and people reach the inner sanctum sanctoram, to their utter dismay, they find that the nirmalyam is already removed. I pray that the nirmalyam must kept in tact at least for 15 minutes so that devotees will not be disappointed.5. Further, when the gate is opened, there is such a rush to have the nirmalya darsanam that there could be a stampede and some devotees could get injured. Such stampedes have happened in many other temples.6. Getting the neivedyam-- People, especially those who come from outstations, have to undergo the strain and spend much time in booking for the neivedyams and in collecting them later. If the authorities think, they can reduce the time element by organising counters along the queue itself, so that devotees can buy them on the way to the temple itself. These are some of my main observations, which I

thought, I should bring to the notice of the group.RegardsK.V. Gopalakrishnan
