Guest guest
Dear Shashi, I agree that the essence of the koti naama archana is devotion. But sometimes having a tentative time frame helps all of us to concentrate and do a better job. Just like having a temple helps us to concentrate more about Krishna even though Krishna is everywhere. Regarding the the number of naama japam per individual - cumulative number - let us leave it to the individual members as some of us may have more time and computer access, ease in typing than than some others. Let us stick with 108 if possible, as it is a very auspicious number for achieving goals. These are just my humble opinion. What really matter is our pure devotion and completion of our Japam in a few months time. Let all of work towards that goal and let us HOPE to see changes in Guruvayur in a positive direction and let Krishna smiles in our lives with positive energy. Please let us know if you have more suggestions. Loka Samastha Sukhni Bhavanthu. Guest guest
Hare Krishna Guruvayurappa!Dear Devotees, Since we are doing a Koti archana by Likhita japa (chanting by writing), the following article written by the Great Swami Sivananda would be of relevance. Please go through it.http://www.dlshq.org/teachings/japayoga.htm(especially read the paragraph titled "Varieties of Japa") Some people do not seem to agree that japa can be done by writing, but Swami Sivananda has described the wonderful benefits of this process.-sriram======Sunil Menon <menon_sunil wrote: Dear Shashi, I agree that the essence of the koti naama archana is devotion. Guest guest
HARI AUM Dear Shree Shashiji, True. The devotion is paramount. Without a plan it will be like playing football without goalposts. Moreover pitching to certain figures adds to responsibility. To avoid confusion write the cumulative figure in brackets. This will help the individual to track his numbers. Guest guest
Om Namo Narayanaaya!!! Dear Devotees: I feel that the purpose of Koti Archana should not be making the number, but each one should chant the Krishna Mantra while typing each " JAPAM " . (a copy paste method will defeat the purpose). I know that here in this group all are true devotees of Lord Krishna and all are doing it in true bhakthi. May God Bless All ......
