Guest guest
Dear Shri Radhakrishnan What a wonderful definition of the word Narayan NAR + AYAN meaning ones own Soul's reflection (or realization)!!! The same way we can say NAR + AYAN + AYA could mean the soul has come to that stage of self realization!!! I am sure by the time our Koti Nama Japam of OM NAMO NARAYANAYA as initiated by our moderator Sunil Menon is completed, our group -nay the whole world- will be benefited with that realization. With this I humbly request all our esteemed members to take part earnestly and seriously to complete the yagna as soon as possible Ohm Narayanaya Namah Chandrasekharan P.R.RADHAKRISHNAN <pallassanasguruvayur Sent: Wednesday, December 19, 2007 12:41:29 AM[Guruvayur/Guruvayoor] THE MEANING OF THE WORD NARAYANA " OM NAMO BHAGAVATHE VASUDEVAYA "Friends,In my last E-mail, I had explained about chanting of "NARAYANA" manthraand about the benefits and effects one derives from mere chantingwithout BHAKTHI, by telling the story of AJAMILA and how he attainedVAIKUNTA.Here, I would like to explain the meaning of the word "NARAYAN". Thisword can be split into two as NARA + AYANA. As per the Sanskritdictionary , NARA means ADMI in Hindi and a male or man or Hero or evenHusband. AYAN means PLACE OF REFUGE. Sometimes it is also used to meanMIRROR, Hence NARAYAN means THE REFUGE OF NARA OR MAN Or if we take theword to mean MIRROR, it means the reflection of self or NARAYAN togethermeans ones soul's reflection. What a beautiful word is "NARAYANA".Let us all chant together "OM NAMO NARAYANAYA"Regards to one an all.P.R.RADHAKRISHNAN
