Guest guest
ABOUT UTHTHARA KAANDAM - RAMAYANAM Friends, I saw some one had written in the form of QUERY as to whether Uthara Kaanda in Ramayana was written by VALMIKI or NOT. If what is written in the end of UTHARA KAANDA is true which reads thus " ithyArshE shrImad rAmAyaNe vAlmIkIyE AdikAvyE chathurvimshathsAhasrikAyAm uththarakAnDE dashOththarashathasama: sargaH uththara kAndaH samApthH " this MAHA KAVYA was written by Valmiki. Further, it is seen ".....sakalajagathdrakshNa jaagarUkasya lOkAbhirAmasya shrIrAmachandrasya nikutOkthyOH shrIrAmAthmajAyOH kushalavayOH AkhyAnE shrImad rAmAyaNE shrImad rAmAyaNE dwAthrimshE/hnhi varthamAna kaththAprasamgaH samApthaH'. Hence in my opinion, this is written by Valmiki and read by LAVA and KUSHA in front of LORD RAMA. Regards to one and all.
