Guest guest
Satyabhama was very proud of her worldly possessions. Once Sage Narada decided to test her. He came to her palace when Krishna was also there and during the talks she said she had enough gold and ornaments to cover Krishna's weight. Sage Narada was not convinced. To prove the point, they decided to actually weigh Krishna with Satyabhama's gold and ornaments, to which Krishna agreed with a smile. Krishna sat on one side of the weigh and Satyabhama ordered her servants to bring all her ornaments. They heaped the ornaments on the other side, but Krishna's side was as it was when He first sat on it. Satyabhama even removed all the ornaments she was wearing and piled it, but to no avail. It was at this time that Rukmini came there. Seeing all this, she was quite taken aback. She enquired what all this was about. Satyabhama told her everything and asked for Rukmini's help. Rukmini first ordered the servants to remove all the ornaments, then went to courtyard, plucked a tulsi leaf, prayed to Him in all earnest and put it where the ornaments were kept. Lo, Krishna's side went up as if a big weight was kept on the other side. Satyabhama was wonderstuck. Rukmini told her, it is not what you keep, but how you keep that matters. Sage Narada was very happy with the outcome and chanting Narayana nama, he left the place. All the time Krishna was smiling. Satyabhama thanked Rukmini for opening her eyes. Devakisuta Govinda Vasudeva Jagatpathey Dehimein tanayam Krishna, twam aham saranam tatha. ______________________________\ ____ Looking for last minute shopping deals?
