Guest guest
Dear all, I was very surprised to see what I thought was a private email reply to the moderator (see post above) appear on the forum. Alas! My husband and I have read a sample of postings from the beginning and found them very uplifting. The website too is very reassuring. Thank you Sunil Menon for a job well done. When we were in Guruvayoor recently, I noticed that there was Lalita Sahasranamam parayanam. We are new to this. So please bear with us if we ask silly questions. How does the Lalita Sahasranmam fit it with the worship of Guruvayoor Appan? Which chant should we do daily - Narayaneeyam or Lalita Sahasranamam or Vishnu Sahasranamam (which we noticed is not chanted at all in Guruvayoor). How about Hanuman Chalisa and Sree Suktam To keep the purity of the worship and to keep us focused on the spiritual path, we want to do only those chants that are specific Guruvayoor Krishna. Would anyone know of a good recording of the Narayaneeyam - like MS Subbalakshmi's recording of the Vishnu Sahasranamam and Hanuman Chalisa - MS' chanting stirs our souls. So is there a similar one of Narayaneeyam Can anyone help us with these questions? Thanks, Laksmi

Guest guest
Dear Lakhmi Ji, According to the true spirit of Hindu belief all the forms and names in which we worship God are nothing but different forms and names of One Truth-One Reality,ie,one God.It is in this spirit that in the temple dedicated to One form of God we will here Parayana of the stotras/keertanas of other forms and names even as the Pooja of the main Diety will be done with the mantras pertaining to that form .Hence in Guruvayur while the pooja of the main Diety -Krishna/Vishnu is with the mantras pertaing to that diety ,we can here parayanas of keertanas/stotras pertaining to other forms/names.In Guruvayur there is Narayaneeyam and Bhagavath parayana as well. The same is the case with other temples as well. It is immaterial in what form or in what name one worship God.It is the purity of devotion to the Divine that matters. From Gita especially from chapters 9,10,11 one will get a clear vision on this-which says that all the manifestations are of the one Lord(Krishna in the sense of Gita). The same vision can be found in other major scriptures also.Hence you can concentrate on and worship that form and name that most captivate you making it your Ishta Devata- be it Krishna,Devi or Hanuman or any other forms/names.There is no harm whether you worship just one form/name or more than one according to your emotional needs -the results are the same provided that is done with true surrender of ones being at the altar of the Lord. For this Narayaneeyam, sree suktam, hanuman chalisa ,vishnu sahasranama, and the likes can be used .Or even just the chanting- Narayanaya nama or Nama Shivaya or likes in total surrender will give the same result. May God Krishna bless you all. saseedharan --- laksmikantam <no_reply > wrote: > Dear all, > > I was very surprised to see what I thought was a > private email reply > to the moderator (see post above) appear on the > forum. Guest guest
Namaste Chandra Menonji Thanks for the links to complete narayaneeyam sites. I was aware of them but they all lead to the same site. What I am looking for is the words to Narayaneeyam stanza after another (if possible with meaning), so I can chant along with a CD I have of the Narayaneeyam. The sites you mentioned have stanza by stanza on different pages and they don't allow me to copy the words to the Narayaneeyam. If you look in the files section of this forum, you will see words to Lalita Sahasranamam, Vishnu Sahasranamam etc but not to the Narayaneem. guruvayur , Chandra Menon <chandrasmenon2002 wrote: > > Om Namo Narayanaya > Shri Lakshmiji, > My G - Shri K.V.Gopalakrishna Sharma - or other learned members will reply to your pertinent questions.
